On the Rich Hill chart Bills give up 212 to get 210. They didn't really get reamed, except in this draft I'd want to be maximizing the top-100/110 picks.

Very slight overpay then. This is definitely not the kind of draft class where the Bills can use ten picks. Once again the Beane m.o is to get the guys they like by using picks to move around. Shouldn’t be a surprise at all.

I am whelmed. Uninspiring pick to trade up for, frankly.

i don’t understand the obsession with drafting Ed Oliver profile-ish players when we are missing the piece that really lets them play free.

I have no idea how he’s gonna do but if the bills like him they 100% had to jump San Fran or he was gone

It seems a did a fair bit of 1T work in college and has some success there, no?

Are we judging him strictly on his weight?

He did a little bit in 2023. Less so in 2024 and he was better for it. He is a 3T.

So, what was the deal and when do we pick again? Thanks

Don't know the deal exactly, but they have a 3rd rnd pick now and won't be up again until then, unless they trade up again.

Friend of mine went to SC.  Said he's a monster DT and we'll love him.  Constantly in the back field and scouts are dumb for not getting him in the first round.  He thinks he'll be a 10 year starter.

He will be staring over Oliver, or even alongside?  It's possible, but not every play is speed and timing backed with power into the OL.  Sometimes they have big guys that push you around.

I'm not saying I don't wish we had a 340 lb guy but if you educated yourself, Beane couldn't have been more clear that's not what they want.

If you're surprised it's on you.  If you just disagree, I get it.

I’m not surprised, he’s been burning premium picks on bad d line selections for years. He just can’t get out of his own way.

People whining about the defensive scheme…are you sure it’s not that the players (Phillips, Jones) are just mediocre?

Beane, and I assume McD, say enough with that nonsense, the spinning of the wheel.

Time to build a championship defense, on the cheap too.

And give Josh Allen a defense that can stop the best of the best.

More to do, and I hope it comes soon, spending the play money that are the draft picks on more d  lineman and cornerbacks.  Then we can have a nice farewell for some of the 'done' guys..

Interesting...

Sanders is a player on the rise for sure. I'm down here so I've heard a lot about him for a while.

He'll be 22 in July... He's definitely a player on the rise. 9.38 RAS... He's a handful.

I can't see how this is a good thing for DeWayne Carter because I would imagine Sanders is immediately in the rotation behind Ed, and they'll play together a lot on 3rd down. I do think Sanders is a huge upgrade in that role. Sanders did play a lot off the center in college, and he was really effective in there. But I'm not sure about that in the NFL...

I think the Bills still need another DT to back-up Jones.

But I like Sanders, and I don't mind this pick...I especially like what he'll bring on 3rd down next to Ed. He's no-joke.

I hate winning these division titles and having a shot at the Super Bowl. Blow it up!!!!

the amount of skepticism and dire attitude really shouldn't surprise me but it does.

I don't think we all need to always agree but calling Bust on draft day is IMO weak smack

NOT YOU if I wasn't clear. I read your post rightly as sarcasm,

I don’t think he’s as undersized as people say

Agreed.  Most of the 1Ts in this draft were around 310.   I think he’ll be fine.

Yeah don't like it at all. And we gave up a second to move up for a guy that would have already been there. This is a drought era Bills move

Like you have any idea where other teams valued him. Lmao.
