More than solid. He had 8 sacks in 10 games. With the game on the line against the Chiefs in KC, he closed out the game by taking down Mahomes - which is what we brought him in for.

Again, I love what I'm seeing out of Bosa. We all know that Miller was never the same guy after the ACL tear and we only got 10 games of true Von in 3 years. But I think saying he looked better than Von "ever" did for us is revisionist history - focusing on the end sum result of his signing and the present, while misconstruing the past.

That said, Bosa has the chance to be more of an impact player for this team that Von was for us in 3 years if he can stay healthy all season. But this game up against Von's best game is, at best, heavily debatable.

Disagree.  Bosa is way more of a physical presence than Von ever was as a Bill.  He is 5 years younger too.  At their best Bosa as a player overall is better than Von as well.

Let’s just hope Bosa stays healthy.  The man is a big dude playing w a lot of attitude.  Hopefully Epenesa and Rousseau can learn a lot about playing DE from Bosa.

That's taking a take from slightly hot to absolutely ludicrous.

The crux of the discussion was that Bosa looked better in this game than in any game Von was a Bill. You're now taking it from that to Bosa at his best was a better player than Miller at their best.

The former discussion is at least debatable. But I'm sorry, that's a ridiculous take. Von at his best was easily the best Defensive End in Football. He's a future Hall of Famer that heavily contributed to two Super Bowl wins with two different teams - being named Super Bowl MVP for one of them.

Again, I love what I've seen from Bosa. Bosa is the now and we're all behind him. I get being excited about him, I am too.

But you can do that without rewriting history for the guy with the Bills logo on his helmet now and dismissing the career legacy of the guy who isn't here anymore. Which you're definitely doing here.

Von pre injury was a massive difference maker for us. But I will say even before injury Bosa is a bit more complete. It’s important for us that our defensive ends can play the run so I think Bosa playing at a high level is probably a better fit for us.

Maybe, maybe not. His injury history is what it is at this point..

I could see 3yrs $60M or so, close to what Groot got, maybe slightly more..

I do hope we can sign him though. I love the guy.

Think when hoecht gets going, and maybe groot can pick up the sacks.

I don't recall ever seeing Bosa look like he enjoyed playing the game of football this much since he was at Ohio St. He just genuinely seems to be happy here in Buffalo. I hope and pray this guy stays healthy all year.

I agree with most of this. Bosa is closer to his peak and much more physical and, frankly, a more natural fit for our defense than Von ever was (though no question Von played well through his first 10 games with us until the ACL). But at their best a better overall player? As in at their career best? No way on that. Von is a future Hall of Famer, and quite rightly. Bosa's peak was never that.

I think that's part of why he's looked so good. Not only is he healthy, he's loving the Buffalo culture and the locker room. He's part of something he knows is great and feels it. I think that's giving him a little bit extra. He and Josh Palmer both haven't played for a team like ours and their enthusiasm is showing:

One slight amend.... Von was easily the best pass rushing outside linebacker in football. That is another piece of the puzzle in terms of impact for the Bills v Bosa. Bosa is a much more natural fit for our scheme than Von was. Von made it work that first half year because of his ability but he was never really comfortable as a hand in the dirt defensive end, and post ACL the Bills basically never even asked him to do that and just rushed him from a 2 point stance.

Agreed but what we’ve seen so far has been great. Thought Babich played him a bit too long today. Why the risk?

no lose signing by Beane:

1. If he gets injured, he wasn’t that pricey and wasn’t worth the gamble

2. If he’s great, maybe we can resign him??

3. If he’s great and he signs elsewhere we get a 3rd comp pick probably.

these types of signings are great

I'm with you. In fact we still don't know what we are going to get through a whole season.

But Beane has the leverage. We can certainly extend midway through the season, and could tag him. At the very least Solomon and Jackson get a year of learning under a master

He does look happy, but let's not read too much into that. People were saying the same thing about Amari Cooper last year 😄
