I am awarding “cutlass” the word of the thread.   Sword, sabre, cutlass.  Short, curved sabre designed for close quarter fighting on naval ships or cavalry.  Think swing or slash, not thrust or chop.

 

 

Edit to add:   I was typing this while “stiletto” was being posted.  Stiletto, and the Hailee double entendre, are worthy of consideration.   I will confess an abundance of enthusiasm and pre-mature decisioning.

If "cutlass" is the word of the thread, "pre-mature decisioning" is the phrase of the thread.  😂
