Like Gunner said, Hoecht was signed to a 3 year deal. Is the suspension annoying? Yeah. But that's just 6 games out of 3 full seasons under contract. I would have still signed him. Ogunjobi though on a 1 year deal? That's a different story.

Barring injuries, Hoecht can possibly play in 45 of 51 games which is 88%.

Ogunjobi can possibly play in 11 of 17 which is 65%.

I get that. As I said to GB, I would’ve offered Ogunjobi less money.  But the deal is done.

Ogunjobi signed a revised (reduced) contract with the Bills after his suspension was disclosed.

They should have revised it more. At least at the guaranteed money level. 5.42m guaranteed on a 6.69 contract makes his deal almost fully guaranteed. I may have still signed him. But i'd have given myself more of an out in case the Draft board fell a certain way, or someone became available after the Draft that we could have all year, and/or another issue with him pops up.

If he or his agent balked at it, i'd have said "go out there and see what you can get after your suspension was announced and give us a call back with those numbers". I wouldn't have guaranteed more than 3m.

LOL!  Doesn’t matter what I’m sure of. The Bills knew they were going to get suspended and still signed them so I’m sure they believe they will produce.  Now we just have to wait to see if that proves to be true.

True it doesn’t matter as far as the league is concerned because players are ultimately responsible for what they put in their bodies. And again, as I said, regardless of how it happened, the Bills may feel that getting 11+ games out of them is worth it. I don’t know.

Truer words never typed---but it should go without saying that  It's not "still a win" if they turn out to be duds.

They only knew about one suspension before signing.

Yeah you're right.  It didn't need to be said.
