Yeah. But that's just 6 games out of 3 full seasons under contract. I would have still signed him. Ogunjobi though on a 1 year deal? That's a different story. Barring injuries, Hoecht can possibly play in 45 of 51 games which is 88%. Ogunjobi can possibly play in 11 of 17 which is 65%. 9 minutes ago, Doc said: I get that. As I said to GB, I would’ve offered Ogunjobi less money. But the deal is done. Ogunjobi signed a revised (reduced) contract with the Bills after his suspension was disclosed. 1 Quote

They should have revised it more. At least at the guaranteed money level. 5.42m guaranteed on a 6.69 contract makes his deal almost fully guaranteed. I may have still signed him. But i'd have given myself more of an out in case the Draft board fell a certain way, or someone became available after the Draft that we could have all year, and/or another issue with him pops up. If he or his agent balked at it, i'd have said "go out there and see what you can get after your suspension was announced and give us a call back with those numbers". I wouldn't have guaranteed more than 3m. Edited Saturday at 10:27 PM by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote

The Bills knew they were going to get suspended and still signed them so I’m sure they believe they will produce. Now we just have to wait to see if that proves to be true. True it doesn’t matter as far as the league is concerned because players are ultimately responsible for what they put in their bodies. And again, as I said, regardless of how it happened, the Bills may feel that getting 11+ games out of them is worth it. I don’t know. Truer words never typed---but it should go without saying that It's not "still a win" if they turn out to be duds. They only knew about one suspension before signing. Quote

Again, *every* single person who gets busted for PED's has a similar story. Bc of that, no one really gets the benefit of the doubt. Even if he is telling the truth, he's just as much to blame. You know that there's a laundry list of things that will get you suspended. You shouldn't put any foreign substance in your body, supplement or not, without knowing every ingredient that's in it. Simply trusting someone else, an employee, a friend, whomever - and not looking into it yourself is DUMB! I can't roll my eyes harder at the "oh it wasn't my fault, it was my trainers fault". You're a grown ass adult. A Professional Football player. In a league where you're being regularly tested. And you're just blindly ingesting things? So then what you are telling me is that your employer should in no way shape or form trust you to do your job and should install a camera where ever it is that you do your job and video every single thing you do or stand over you to baby sit and make sure your doing EXACTLY what you were hired to do & no amount of trust should enter into your agreement of what you are hired and PAID to do ??? 1 Quote

Sounds like what most armchair analysts here do. 🤔😁 Quote

I think what he’s saying is the same thing I have said repeatedly. Every single player busted for PEDs has a similar story and they are - probably without exception - complete BS. It’s an arms race. New, illegal drugs and masking agents come out, then tests get better and pick them up. Careers and millions (if not tens of millions) of dollars are on the line. That’s why players risk taking them. It’s basic economics. Edited 7 hours ago by BarleyNY 2 Quote

There’s basically two schools of thought here. One is that players are responsible for they put in their bodies. The other is that players aren’t responsible for what they put in their bodies. You seem to subscribe to the latter. 1 Quote

You seem to be missing the plot and projecting some sort of real world 9-5 issue with the workforce or something? Idk it's really confusing. I've mostly tried to ignore it bc it's not remotely comparable or really has anything to do with the situation. But you keep harping on it, so I guess I'll play along... The NFL is not comparable to an everyday job. There's really no scenario where your employer comes to you and goes "hey, so I need you to do this thing for me and when you're done, I'm going to bring it to my bosses and if it's no good, it's going to get me suspended and cost me millions of dollars. I'm putting it all on you to do and I'm not even going to bother to look it over before I go in there". Best believe in that scenario with so much on the line, they'd take it upon themselves to do, keep an eye on what they're doing, or *at the very least*, look it over before going in and it passing or failing. And in the end, if the employer was so careless as to not do those things, the responsibility and onus would fall on them and they'd be punished for the results, just like Hoecht was. There's no way no matter how you spin this and what you compare it to that Hoecht has no blame, isn't at least an idiot, and at most a cheater. Even if his "employee" was at fault, the ultimate fault and responsibility falls on Hoecht. As it should. Edited 30 minutes ago by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote

I think the Bills came out and said that by the time they learned of it, there was very little left on the DT market and they felt their best option was just to proceed. I obviously don’t like it either, but both the team and the player felt it was still the thing to do. They know a lot more about how it went down than I do. 🤷♂️ Quote
