At the combine Hamlin ran a 4.59 and Rapp crawled his way to a 4.78, so they’d probably be the slowest starting duo as well.

I think Rapp and Bishop was the plan and Edwards was the injury insurance behind those two, now because of multiple injuries we’re left holding our breath watching Hamlin.

I do trust McDermott with DBs so I’m not hitting the panic button, but safety along with edge rusher are my biggest concerns going into the season.

And yet probably still faster than Hyde + Poyer these last few years

Bates is a great player for sure.

I'm wondering if anyone has the "almighty" PFF grades and that sort of stuff.

To whatever degree this has value, I don't really know but thanks very much for posting this.

👍

Meaning no ill will towards Taylor Rapp but I hope Cole Bishop takes this opportunity and runs with it.

I just have no long term confidence in Hamlin, Rapp or Lewis. Hopefully Bishop takes advantage of this opportunity and never looks back. Shouldn't Edwards be ready soon? And I'd like to see Cine get some snaps.

Its a huge revolving door.  Every DC in the league is licking their chops and salvating what they can do with this defense.

Cine is being converted to LB by Bills.

Hamlin watching Henry run away from him was depressing. The same thing happened to Poyer with Cook, but at least he's ancient. Hamlin is only 26. He's not getting any faster.

What's up with Edwards? He was a solid starter for KC, and now he's behind the likes of Rapp and Hamlin. I had high hopes for the Edwards-Bishop pairing.

Edwards was a backup, pressed into starting.  That said, still not sure how he could be worse than what they are running out there.

Is that regardless of strong or free?

I'd like to at least see Bishop replace Hamlin, and he's his backup.  Won't happen this week obviously since Rapp is out.

Yeah but he started their last 9 games, including their 3 playoff games and the SB.  I can't say how well he played though.
