yet here we are, having this discussion.  Pegula's only positive decisions have been those 2 hirings---and now the water is circling the bowl.  And that's what you want to point out--the 2 architects of Bills ultimate futility over the past 3 or so years, as things are now falling apart??

You should see the things discussed on this message board.  Just because something is discussed here doesn't really mean anything.

Falling apart to who?  Maybe to you, but you're not the one making the decisions.  To the ones making the decisions, they could view this as part of being an NFL team.  Teams have ups and downs. EVERY TEAM.

If he doesn't than I hope fans are smart enough to stay home next year and not waste their hard earned money on this team in the form of season tickets, etc.

Owners eat head coach and GM contracts all the time not long after an extension. Hell the Raiders are still paying John Gruden, and now Josh McDaniels as well. The Bills didn't hesitate to dump Dick 'The Corpse' Jauron either after a bad extension and was with a notoriously cheap owner at the time.

Bottom line is there's no way you can go into a critical roster reset/soft rebuild year with this head coach and let him have any influence in the FA/draft process. I'm obviously not a fan of Beane either but willing to keep him if it mean dumping his pal McDummy.

No Beane deserves the boot every bit as much as our head coach. Probably more.

I’ve been pretty happy with ownership up until hearing about extending McD. This game was the last straw. It was embarrassing and we have Josh Allen, there is no reason for it.
They married McBeane, without seeing how this season would turn out. Seeing the Sabres also inspires little hope they will ever figure it out.
The most frustrating thing ever is knowing we have Allen and Diggs and this is the udder garbage that we get from coaches.

I lack the faith that this organization will swing for elite level talent (in their prime, not at the very end of their careers).

The 49ers take big swings, Beane has shown me his model is the carry-over.

McDermott can not be the Head Coach at the start of 2024.

If you go by the Sabres then you know Terry has what it takes. He has fired and hired many GM's/HC's as Sabres owner. IMHO, he has no choice but to fire McDermott. The team seems to have tuned McDermott out and his message has gone stale. I doubt the players believe in "THE PROCESS" anymore. The fans certainly don't.

Has what it takes...? Lol

He hasn't done so hot picking leaders there either.

Well these extensions for coaches and GM’s don’t mean much.

Cardinals extended Kingsbury and their GM last year and they were both out at the end of the year.

it’s almost like if a team is giving an early extension to coach and GM. they’re trying to show faith and stability that is not actually there. Trying to force it into existence.

I am not convinced Terry has any clue. I really am not. That he hired McDermott and Beane in the first place was a stroke of luck. They were the right people at the right time. Even if it is time to move on now they were very good hires.

The chances of him getting it right again? Slim to none IMO. And before anyone accuses me of it this is not an excuse to keep the status quo. It is just my honest assessment of how much ownership really understand what they are doing.

I think the players have completely "tuned out" the process. He started losing the locker room when Diggs blew up. Josh didn't want to make waves so he kept quiet and rather than throw Dorsey under the bus, he played good soldier.  Now things are worse. Dorsey leaving will not solve the long term problem.  Process & Culture...humble & hungry....and whatever other slogan you want doesn't fly anymore.  And only Terry can fix this.

I just can't see how he can screw this up. Let's say he fires McD after the season but decides to keep Beane.  Brandon can't possibly ignore quality OC's like Ben Johnson, Brian Johnson, Bobby Slowick or even Harbaugh?  There's quality out there who would love a chance to coach up a young Josh Allen.  Now if Terry fires both guys, who knows what will happen?

Ungrateful !!! McD & Beane have brought 5 winning seasons a AFC championship game appearance multiple AFC east championships & the team along with the city a brand new state of the art stadium & alls every one wants to do is get rid of the ones that made it happen .

That's like on friday taking the pen away from the guy that signs your pay check . Blow it up fire them all WTH we love going backwards !!

Eventually every coach runs his course, just the nature of the business.

I am of the opinion that Andy Reid is the true GOAT, given that he went to Super Bowls with 2 different teams and 2 different QBs, has an extensive coaching tree of successful coaches, and will likely be somewhere in the top 3 of all-time HC wins by the time he retires (with a realistic shot at being #1), and he didn't even have Mahomes until he was in his 60's.

Even he ran his course in Philly.

Belichick won 6 Super Bowls and went to 9 with NE and a few years after his last SB win he's about to be let go. 6 Super Bowl wins!

McDermott did a good job cleaning up the mess and restoring a sense of respectability here. But honestly, he's won jack squat that matters with a top 3 QB in the NFL who is a generational talent, and the team is a disaster that is going backwards.

If one goes both go and in any event Brandon will not choose the next coach. Terry has chosen two coaches here. They were both 100% HIS picks. I don't see how the next one won't be.

Of your list I also am only interested in Ben Johnson and possibly Slowick - although he is so inexperienced as to be a shot to nothing.
