Simon
Was watching this conversation in the Shoutbox and thought it was pretty interesting. The Shoutbox discussion was Top 5 albums but I cannot get my list down anywhere close to that so I'm going with Top 10. Exiled on Main St Songs in the Key of Life Waiting for Columbus Stadium Arcadium Europe '72 The White Album Electric Ladyland Physical Graffiti Bltches Brew Goodbye Yellow Brick Road It's Alive What do y'all got? 1

SinceThe70s
I'd have to distinguish a recorded double album from a live one. For example, unfair to compare The Wall to Waiting For Columbus, imo. EDIT: with that said Quadrophenia would make my top 10 either way Edited October 21, 2023 by SinceThe70s 1

We're not playing for money so I can live with some imperfections.

Fair enough - wasn't my intention to throw cold water on a fun thread - just the first thing that came to my mind when I tried to rank. I'd probably put Yessongs amongst my faves - but that's a triple album so maybe I don't play nicely in the sandbox.
muppy
IF live recordings could be allowable I would add LIVE RUST and WOODSTOCK the triple disc for starters. Recorded in the studio and LIVE are indeed 2 different animals. My tastes run clearly for the iconic "holding up over time" and long standing influence. For the WHO Fans you could arguably say Tommy AND Quadrophenia belong.

There are too many to make a top 10 really, most peoples tastes change by the month imo. No mention of Eat a Peach/Live at the Fillmore, kind of surprised. I am a Steely Dan freak. The Grateful Dead and anything Steve Winwood are the other artists I enjoy the most but NOT Dead and Co. or whatever they call themselves now. Maher is good but that is not Grateful Dead to me. I did however really like Furthur with John Kadlecik and saw several of their concerts. Jmo.
