You're running out of years in his prime, let alone Diggs' patience with the organization. If you're not going to pay Tremaine or Poyer, this is a no brainer to try and swing. A 2nd Round Pick? The late 2nd has been a wasteland for receivers lately. There's always a run on them between picks 33 and 50. It's a valuable position so you aren't going to get a steal that easily. So would you take Hopkins for 2-3 years with a fairly large cap hit, or a cost controlled random player with likely a 3rd round grade for 4 years? I'll take the known product in that scenario. T master Posted March 8, 2023 Share Posted March 8, 2023 I've always been a huge fan of Hopkins if the ball is near him the dude is just money & he's not all about his ego taking over after he makes a big catch he lets his play do the talking that is one thing i've always loved about the guy he seems very humble but knows he can perform when needed . I’m a big fan of young and cheap. The super tricky part is who and when. With young guys you’re not sure if they can play. Vets have a different question: what do they have left in the tank. They only went for one bigtime receiver while Brady was there, and notably, that did not yield a Lombardi. Build the line. I also think Davis had a bad year, probably due to the injury, and still believe he can be a good receiver for us. If we invest in a WR, I'd prefer to see it in the draft.
