That should be the death of DirectTV, right? I imagine NFL Sunday Ticket was the only thing keeping its heart beating.

You would think so.  I mean, radio still exists so I guess there's going to be a long-term market for live television delivered by satellite, especially in parts of the country that have spotty internet.  But this is obviously a dying business model.

ESPN + seems to have all the Sabres games. We get it for free in a Hulu / Disney + bundle when we got a new phone.

Not all the games, but the majority of them.

I think when they are on TNT neither MSG nor ESPN+ can carry the game.

Was hoping it would be Amazon since I already have prime and think they've done a good job with the thurs games.  Looks like I'll have to subscribe to yet another streaming service.  At least I don't have to give Apple any of my money

Thinking the same thing, can't believe amazon didn't throw more money at this. Especially already owning the Thurs night games

For me it starts and ends with the user interface.  I was already subscribed to YTTV but saw a sweet Hulu Live bundle deal and thought I'd try it to see if I wanted to switch.  I didn't even last a day before I canceled the "live" portion and just kept basic Hulu for shows and series.  The live TV interface is awful.  You can't sort the guide and it doesn't make any sense.  If you Google it people have been complaining for years it seems, with no improvements.

Since none of these streaming services have lengthy contracts you can get one for a month and try it out with virtually no risk.

Now that the Ticket will be with YTTV I'm glad I've stayed with them.

did Hulu for a while, YTTV is better UI and it has nfl nw. Hulu did not when I was a live tv sub. So it meant one more fiasco when the one or two nflnw bills games popped up.

I’ve also streamed ST forever without dtv. Will be interesting to see how google improves it, but it’s been good anyway for many years now.

this season it was only needed for like 6 of their games in my dc market!

Can someone who has YouTube tv explain the difference between YouTube tv and YouTube prime channels? Since these will be the two options for Sunday ticket. Everything I’m seeing online says the cost for either service is $64.99/month. Is that accurate?  Doesn’t make sense to me. Shouldn’t prime channels have a lesser cost since it’s not the same product giving you lots of channels like YouTube tv does?

Yep, had Sling when first cut the cord, YTTV blows that away. Interface and tech is so much better. Being able to segregate DVR by login is key as well. I would say only downside is the DVR..cant delete things, if you record a show it records ALL of them. No worries on space as there is no restrictions, can just make finding a particular show/episode harder

thank you for this. I have noticed some delays at times but it was the 30 seconds that was hanging me up. So basically these delays have always been in force but Ive never made it that big a deal or had undue concerns then. GREAT.  So I won't now either.

Merry Christmas and GO BILLS!~!~!!!

Yep, when DTV first started and would be on phone to brother end of Bils game in mid 90's, he was always ahead of me by a good bit. Now with the streaming ticket, its funny as i watch the tickets on one TV, RedZone from YTTV on the other, and the ticket is a good minute behind, the RedZone about 30 seconds. SoI  have to delay the redzone cause they always a play ahead!

It really stinks if you like to live bet..almost useless for that if you want to bet next play etc...

Yeah those were the exact articles I was reading that had me confused. I understand how prime time channels work on YouTube. I’m just asking is there a monthly fee just for using prime channels in addition to whatever channels you subscribe to on there obviously.

It is still all up in the air, but it's sounding like you will need to first buy YouTube Premium ($11.99 per month) to get the NFL Package.

There is a "sports disclaimer" on the YouTube Primetime article that was cited.

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/12829186?hl=en&ref_topic=12462664

You may see restrictions for certain programs, like sports events, when trying to watch Primetime Channels on YouTube.

Content owners, like sports leagues and our other network partners, set these viewing restrictions. They vary based on your current or home location, the content you're trying to watch, which platform or device you're watching on, and possibly other restrictions made by our partners.

Affected programs won’t be available on Primetime Channels. If a restriction is in effect in your location, we'll do our best to let you know.

Well, I've had Directv for 22 years, and kept it mostly because I'm an out of market Bills fan who needs ST to watch.  Finally i have the reason I need to drop Directv.  End of an era.

Will be making the call to cancel Monday morning after last game against cheaters.  Need it for this weekends game and likely Pats game .   I will miss it.  The commercial skip ability in DTV receivers, PIP and other features can not be done in many of these streaming solutions.  Plus synching the sat feed and radio feed was so simple .  Oh well gotta learn new tricks for synching if only we could purchase a game feed with my announcers like MLB, NHL and NBA do.

if you don't live in Buffalo, how else do you get the non prime-time games (which, this year, were very few!)

I'm assuming he's referring to the many free but illegal streams.  Not that I'm not above using them, but they are more of a pain than a free legal method
