The Bills should win obviously but I wouldn't bet this game. McDermott isn't the type of coach to run up the score like Belichick and Saban do. I could see a scenario where the Bills are up big but the Steelers get a meaningless TD in garbage time and get one of those back door covers.

McDermott wants the offense to do whatever is best to win, if we have a huge lead then their burning clock however that works. For us with our absent run game that can still include throwing the ball.

I like Mason Rudolph, quite a bit. I'm an Oklahoma State alum/diehard fan and got to watch Mason rack up 13,000+ yards and almost 100 TDs at his time in Stillwater. He *WAS* the next QB after Ben... but he got knocked out like Tua did, against the Ravens in his 2nd year. He was never the same after. The fans at Pittsburgh are THE WORST in the league and never gave him a chance.

Feel like he's been handcuffed by the OC since day one because the dude can sling it. Instead, they have him dump the ball off most of the time.

But if you watch the play Mason got knocked out against the Ravens, you could see he can ball up to that point. That year, when he came back a couple weeks later, he just wasn't the same.

All that said, he's be a solid backup for Josh I think. Give him an offense with the weapons we have at WR, he's do pretty well in case we needed him.

Mason Rudolph is a bum.  Never had a chance. Sorry.  Truth

Good point. Still don't feel comfortable giving 14. At the same time the Bills are quite capable of covering it. This is why I would stay away from this game from a betting perspective.

I'm definitely not going anywhere near a 14.5 spread.

Away from the betting world, though, I'm fully comfortable in a Bills win.

There are certain game profiles that you can look at from a mile away and know that the Bills are going to win. At home against a rookie quarterback making his first start is one such game profile.

While the run game could still use a bit of improvement, I don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. Devin and Moss has both broke a few runs for good yardage here and there.

So anyways, clearly there's room for improvement....but I wouldn't refer to it as "absent" etc.

I see a big easy win coming for the Bills.

Don't we deserve an easy game every now and then ?

Many saw a big easy win last season against the Jags also lol. Of course last season has nothing to do with this one, but I'm just sayin.....

The Steelers are extremely well coached. Much better than the Bills.  This game is not a gimme. My biggest concern is overlooking this game because of the Chiefs the following week.  I think people are going to realize we have flaws that the injuries and weather excuses have been covering.

1) We can't run the ball   2) We lack consistency.   This is the game to get on track.

You are taking a lot of shots for this.

Please describe the flaws and what areas of our game lacks consistency?    Then look are the team’s total offensive and defensive rankings.  Maybe you should do the later first?

Not a shot at any particular poster, but man oh man did that Jags loss mind f**k a lot of Bills fans. That loss is brought up in every thread as a reason to not be too optimistic and that’s gotta suck to carry that around your neck like some heavy burden bestowed by the football gods.

Well I assume you mean me since I brought it up. First and foremost....I didn't bring it up as a reason to not be optimistic nor am I "carrying any burden". I simply stated it responding to poster that said they are "expecting an easy win".

Basically pointing out the obvious that no win is easy. Hope I cleared that up enough for you in that regard...

This is a message board. Nothing that is posted here has any effect on the outcomes of the game. The Bills players and coaches, on the other hand, are always careful not to disrespect an opponent before a game. No Jalen Ramsey or Tyreek Hill loudmouths on this team. That's what counts.

Nonsense.  Next you're going to try telling me that wearing my Josh Allen jersey, sitting on a particular side of the couch and what I eat and drink has NO effect on the outcome.  Crazy talk.

You do realize we tied the NFL record for winning games by 10+ points set back in 1941-1942 right?

Well, you have to keep in mind that no other NFL team had ever lost to an inferior opponent prior to that game.  It tore everyone's world asunder.

It messes with my mind because I witnessed it in person.  It was time change weekend and players acted like they were in a funk, even in warmups.

Do you think I or anyone else here believes what is said in this forum has any impact on games? Really?

Of course this is a message board and we can say whatever the F we want. I’m just saying I personally have never been a fan of disrespecting the ability of opponents heading into a game.

But hey, thanks for pointing out the obvious none the less.

Why exactly? His QBR was GREAT before he got hurt. That year, Roethlisberger was out for the season, he had ZERO offensive weapons. They couldn't block which caused the offense to really suck. Even with all that, he was decent. To the point of being hurt, he was hitting about 70% of his passes with 7 TDs to 2 INTs. He hit almost 86% the week before he was hurt against Cincy.

The ONE game he started the next year (2021) against the Browns when they sat Ben, he slung it around the field for over 300 yards. They allowed him to throw it deep and it showed.

NOTE: I watched every game Mason played in that year on RZ.

I don't think there's anything wrong with noticing that the Steelers have a worse offense than ours and also a worse defense than ours.  This is not a competitive matchup, and it's delusional to pretend otherwise.

Yes, upsets happen sometimes.  This would be a big upset.
