So, does that technically put someone in the "Mile High" club?

(Asking for a friend.)

I think there is a separate “Half Mile, Super Creepy” club. If he likes super kinky, maybe prison will appeal to him?

When you are on a plane trip for 31 hours from Rochester to Melbourne Australia

you have to do something to kill the time

ROC - CHI - LAX - KOA - AKL  - SYD - MEL

Hopefully, that is not based on real life experience.

ROC-ORD-LAX-MEL would be much better…less time to kill.

that happened to me for real back in June of  ‘92

bad luck on available flights I guess

31 hours there total time

21 hours on the return

no layover in Hawaii to drag it out.

Sydney to SF direct was 13 hours IIRC.

Well, I did fly up to Sydney the previous day so I could be a tourist for a day.

so technically add a few hours onto the 21.

I just double checked

13h 45m To be correct

Buffalo to LA to Sydney - I forgot how long of a flight it was overall though.

Longest direct flight was 20 hours, JFK to Beijing. 6 hours on the tarmac while they fixed the plane twice, then had to restock food and drinks before the 14 hours in the air.

How many kittens did you kill, though?

For years when I lived in DC, my hairstylist was a cute Vietnamese woman named Le.

She would go home to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City nowadays) about once or sometimes even twice a year.

After a lot of trial and error, she concluded the best, most efficient way to get there  was Dulles to Seoul, S. Korea, to Saigon.  Total in-air time: 24 hours.  A full day in the air!

I always remember her story, b/c I have not done one of these Far East long haul flights myself---the thought of it scares me to death.
