9/19//21 Week 2 Bills @ Miami Postgame Thread

Recommended Posts

On the Miami side, I definitely thought that Brissett handled the Buffalo pass rush way better than Tua did, but they really just didn't solve what Buffalo was doing on defense at all.

Buffalo's offense picked up in the 2nd half, mostly on the back of the running game. Scoring 3 touchdowns on 4 possessions in the is the efficiency you want, even if it doesn't always look pretty. With 33 passes and 30 runs, I appreciate the attempt at having a more balanced approach, especially when the rushing attack works to the tune it did today.

But the pass protection is an issue here and clearly affects the overall efficiency. The film review is going to show a few things:

The Bills trying to use the crossing routes against the heavy man defense that worked for them last season and the protection not holding up. Allen's passes also seemed too floaty and he was throwing off his back foot some. When the protection held up, it looked like last year. When it didn't, it looked more like 2019.

Defensively, it looks like a top unit so far but everything with only a 2 game sample size is a taken with a very big pile of salt.

If you're not legitimately concerned about Allen then you haven't been watching the last two games.  Our defense has been great though.

I'm not "legitamitely concerned" about Allen b/c he has proven he's a great QB in the league so I'll grant him a slow start.

17 of 33 completions is not going to get it done against good teams. Allen isxstill struggling but he played better as the game went on.

Rush the passer and pass block. Next week will be a good test for the o-line.

Yes some good BS there.  Yeah next week is when we see if the O-line is NFL worthy!   Good takes bro.

Those that think this was an ugly win or whatever they’re saying are delusional. This was a complete beat down.

IMO, Josh is pushing it.  He’s gotten the contract and I think it’s in his head a little that he needs to be THE playmaker.  Until he settles down, relaxes and just plays his game,

he’s going to look like he’s struggling. But a few more wins and I think he will. In no way am I concerned.  And after a 35-0 beat down... you have to really want to find things to complain about.

There’s a lot of room for improvement. Lots of plays, offensively and defensively, they probably want back. And yet they shut out a divisional opponent and scored 5 offensive touchdowns, despite all the “poor” plays.  Lol.

Josh wasn’t putting juice on balls he needed to today. Some underthrows and overthrows. LIke you said he just needs to settle in and just play.

Agreed.  I think he’ll be perfectly fine, but it seemed like allen was trying too hard not to overthrow guys today.

ummm…fix this nfl.com.

otherwise headlines should probably read tomorrow:

Dolphins tie Bills, 0-35.

Additionally, 3 teams tied at 1-1, but we are in first by way of tie breakers as we are the only unbeaten in the division.

This defense is good.  Williams and Feliciano need to see the bench.  Imagine what this team will look like when they decide to give Allen time

Who is going to play that makes the right side better?    Williams had a pro bowl season last year, maybe you ought to give him a few games.

It is amazing we can have some negative comments after a 35-0 win.  There are fans who have passed on that lived through the late 60’s-early 70’s spinning in their graves.

It was the biggest shut out win since 66...the 90s Bills never had a shutout this big. 🤷‍♂️

I have been waiting for them to fix it.

How can the NFL Official site have 3 games as ties?

This was definitely weird to see. I never thought I would complain about Allen not throwing the ball hard enough but I think he's overcorrecting a bit. That almost pick to McKenize is a good example. The window was there, he just needed to rifle it in. Overall he just didn't look comfortable in this game, every time he felt pressure he was throwing off his back foot.

I’m seeing the early signs of an extremely dominant team. We’re much more balanced and I can already see it all coming together.
