Jets fielding trade calls for CJ Mosley, hopefully Buffalo is one of them.

I love how people hate on Edmunds. He is much better than what everyone thinks. No he isn't Ray Lewis, admittedly Devin White is better than him already.

So I get it he isn't the best MLB in the league, but he is above average with room to grow. I wouldn't kick him off for a guy that has showed no desire to play ball since he got paid, the Ravens let him walk for a reason.

Mosley was also constantly hurt in college as well, his run with the Ravena was the only time he didn't have constant injuries.

Mosley missed 2 games in 4 years at Bama.  He missed 3 games in 5 years with the ravens.  He signed with the jets and was obviously cursed, got hurt in year 1. Opted out year 2.

I don’t necessarily want Mosley, but talk about an exaggeration .....

The guy is a playmaker and he would be a great addition, actually making a softer position for the Bills into a strength. This defense needs a player like Mosley, he could be the difference in making this defense formidable.

What would of made this team formidable was a pass rusher havoc wreaker. Instead we opted to sign a 3rd/4th string Wr. Lol

No one is taking that contract and I doubt he looks to restructure himself out of $$$. It was one of the worst deals I've seen in recent years. They'd also take a $27M+ cap hit. If they are dead set on getting rid of him it will be by release.

I cannot imagine a world in which we would trade anything for CJ Mosely and consider it a good value. Let's look at this objectively:

- what would we "trade" for him?

- why would we trade for him?

- is the upgrade really worth the cap hit?

- considering he hasn't played in almost two years, where is here physically and mentally?

- are there more pressing needs to be addressed?

- if they are shopping him now, they will be shopping him later - what's the rush?

- could his contract be any worse?

If we want a Jet's ILB go out and get Neville Hewitt who actually played and did so at a decent enough level that he deserves middle of the road starter money somewhere (I'd gladly take him as depth on backup money here). This is not the most pressing area of need for us though and we should NOT trade for what can only be seen as a terrible contract that had unfortunate returns for the Jets due to unforeseeable circumstances.

The last question is - What would you be willing to give up in this trade and how are you justifying it?

With salary room becoming scarce one of the ways to improve this defense is for McBeane to swallow their pride and admit that Edmunds simply isnt a good MLB and replace him with someone better.

Yes, the Bills are going to release a two time pro-bowler and an individual they have touted as a core member of their defense. Not to mention have you looked at the cap impact of the moves you advocate?

I really don’t care whether they sign Mosley but let me offer one thing here. Right now there’s a huge difference in the state of the Bills and Jets. I find it hard to believe that they care all that much about trading with the Bills. By the time the Jets would  be competing on a serious level Mosley will already be gone or washed up. They have way more pressing issues right now than competing for the Division title.

Edmunds is the new whipping boy around here....when he's gone the new whipping boy will be Ed Oliver.

Didnt say anything about bringing in Mosley just that he is a far superior player to Edmunds. Nor would I release Edmunds as there is no cap benefit to it.  Id see about bringing in an inexpensive vet and maybe draft a guy in the second to 4th rd for competition in case edmunds doesnt improve and maybe give him some reps as an edge rusher. Edmunds was a liability last year despite his "Pro Bowl" nod.

This SOB signed the highest contract for a MLB in the history....played 2 games since the signing.

That’s $42.5 million per game!

Actually, I believe they paid him $43M at the signing and another $10M in the form of a roster bonus for last year. Still, that's $26.5M per game. Insane.

Yeah I just took the total value of his contract divided by 2 games.

New York does like bad contracts.  Bobby Bonilla will get paid by the Mets until he's like 65.
