Either:

A. Trump is mentally impaired and unable to discern fact from fiction leading him to do illegal actions.

B. Dozens of Republicans in states and in the Trump administration are lying under oath and conspiring to frame Trump.

or

C. Trump knew what he was doing was illegal and conspired with others to attempt to overturn the results of the election.

Take your choice.

The answer is c.

Trump felt that the election was sloppy at best, given the unique circumstances surrounding voting during the pandemic, and wasn’t willing to simply accept the explanation he was being given that ‘oh well, there’s nothing you can do about it’

You already know I'm sure, but that's different.

creating a Russian election myth, 2 years of investigating it which tore the country apart, then orchestrated riots causing billions in damages and dozens killed all to influence the 2020 election.  The left created this entire situation we have with how they acted for four years. Something like this was inevitable.

D. He saw the success of the Russia probe in sowing disinformation about an election, saw that accusations of treason and an illegitimate election were allowed to stand, and that regardless that Mueller concluded the collusion angle was non-existent, there really was no fall out for those that spread the lie.  He also saw that for supporters of the Dems, it didn’t matter that it was manufactured, they voted party line regardless.

Predictable, really.

@aristocrat  —missed your entry a couple posts up.  Excellent.

Ladies and gentlemen it's looking we've moved into the next phase.  The "oh yeah he did it but he had every reason to" phase.  We'll be hearing all the splendid justifications and accusations that the left did the same for the next few weeks (or decades).

On another note.  Can't wait to find out why all these people asked Trump for pardons!

The easiest way to tell trumpists from conservatives or republicans is the whataboutism.

Call it what you want.  It won't change what it is: turnabout.

Pretty sure you only ask for pardons when you never did anything wrong and were totally in the right. Yep, that's probably it.

*****in' a. I'm glad I'll be able to look back on this time in history and tell my kids I did not vote for Trump.

So will all the Trump supporters. Just like they were all against the Iraq War, years after they were for it

J6 Committee Failed, so Here's 'Plan B' to Whip up the Base Over SCOTUS Abortion Decision

dc84eb5c-9fc0-4581-85f7-17c73cbf781b-860

Democrats haven’t gotten what they wanted with their effort to whip up Americans with the Jan. 6 hearings.

So, now it looks like they’re going to Plan B — pro-abortion hearings in the wake of the SCOTUS decision in Dobbs, sending the decision on abortion back to the states.

The Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) announced that he would be calling for a hearing to deal with the decision.

Failed? Wasn’t Jeffery Clarke’s home raised by FBI yesterday?

No, they succeeded in showing Trump tried to have a coup

And you don’t care. You hate the government.

Something I've noticed is that some people only see things through the lens of winning or losing, not principles.

You see that with people claiming the Jan 6th committee is a plot to influence the midterms, which would be very dumb because the midterms are too far away. If that was the actual plan, they would have started in September and ran through October.

There's obviously value in creating a historical record of what led to the events on Jan 6th and what happened that day, regardless of whether or not it helps a particular party. But to believe that, you need to value things beyond your side winning.

So when you see posts about the committee failing, or not moving the needle for the election, I think it's just because those people cannot see a reason for action other than personal  or political gain. Who is winning the horse race? That's all that matters to them. If the GOP is still expected to win in the midterms, it must mean the committee is meaningless.

There’s literally nothing that Nancy Pelosi does that isn’t 100% purely political. Nothing.

I am a bit surprised it’s not someone higher up like Pat Cipollone given the urgency. But I’ve also seen reporting that she was facing credible threats so they wanted to lock her testimony in now.

And the envelope please. . .

The mystery witness is “Cassidy Hutchinson, an aide to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows”:

So...I guess the left is admitting that Trump had nothing to do with people breaking into the Capitol.  Well, it was fun while it lasted...

What are you even talking about? Are you high?

We don’t know if Trump or people around him coordinated with the Proud Boys or the other groups. That’s literally what we have an investigation for: to figure things out.

I don’t know if there is a link between them. But I do know that we now have plenty of evidence of Trump himself committing actual crimes. So there’s always that.
