Republicans preview months ahead filled with obstruction and extremism

House Republicans are done pretending and aren't even trying to disguise their identity as the party of extremism, conservative media stunts and obstruction.

Fresh evidence is emerging of the GOP's strategy of mayhem heading into next year's midterm elections under the defining influence of Donald Trump.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, whose demagoguery is tolerated by GOP leaders, is at the center of a new storm over her allusions to Nazism. A leaked video shows Texas' Rep. Chip Roy prescribing Washington chaos as the GOP seeks to destroy Joe Biden's presidency and win back the chamber.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is meanwhile working out how to derail the Democratic-led committee that will look into the January 6 insurrection -- putting the party's idol, Trump, above American democracy.

Colorado Republican says Biden’s COVID vaccine staff are ‘Needle Nazis’

Rep. Lauren Boebert has also previously used the term ‘brown shirts’ to refer to the enforcement of public health measures by state’s Jewish governor

Rep. Lauren Boebert compared federal COVID-19 vaccination efforts to Nazism, tweeting that Joe Biden “has deployed his Needle Nazis” to her Colorado district.

Boebert, a first-term Republican, posted the tweet above a video of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki discussing the administration’s efforts to raise vaccination rates through targeted outreach around the country. Psaki mentioned Mesa County, which is in Boebert’s district.

In addition to Nazism, Boebert also compared the outreach to communism in China.

“Biden has deployed his Needle Nazis to Mesa County,” she wrote on Thursday. “The people of my district are more than smart enough to make their own decisions about the experimental vaccine and don’t need coercion by federal agents. Did I wake up in Communist China?”

Boebert is an idiot, but the term Nazi has been thrown around so much in the last few years that it's really lost any real meaning to most people.  Oh, they want to vaccinate me?  NAZIs!  Trump wants a border wall?  NAZI!  You forgot to put cinnamon in my latte? MFing NAZI!!!!!  Let's all put a little real perspective into ourselves and our world, get over the hyperbole, and we can start right here in PPP :)

Honestly, I think he is more of a traditional sociopathic narcissist. All of the fascist/nazi talk just stirs people up to no one's benefit.

Val Demings applies heat to Senate Republicans over possible police furloughs

Democratic U.S. Rep. Val Demings — a former police chief now running for the U.S. Senate — blasted Senate Republicans Friday, accusing them of putting Capitol Police officers at risk of being furloughed.

Demings, of Orlando, responded to media reports that the Capitol Police is running out of money, and might furlough officers by August or September if Congress doesn’t cough up some more money for the department that specializes in protecting its members and facilities.

Trump calls for GOP pullout from Biden’s $1.2T mega-spending talks: ‘You’re just being played’

Former President Donald Trump called Friday night for Senate Republicans to withdraw from negotiations over President Biden’s $1.2 trillion spending proposal, warning that "RINO Republicans" were "just being played by the Radical Left Democrats."

"They will give you nothing!" Trump warned in his message, which was distributed by email under the banner of Trump’s "Save America" organization.

Haven't been here in a while and I assume this has been covered, but I was wondering about something.

If a Democrat wins a race in a state and the results get overturned by a group of Republican legislators, what is the justification given by Trump supporters to override the will of the people?

We know that laws allowing this have been enacted in multiple states so we know it can happen.

Is there another conclusion that can be reached other than Republicans no longer believe in democracy?

FCC proposes $5M fine for election robocalls from conservative activists

Conservative activists facing felony charges in Michigan for alleged robocalls discouraging mail-in voting last year now face a more than $5 million fine from the Federal Communications Commission related to the calls.

The $5,134,500 proposed fine against John Burkman, Jacob Wohl and J.M. Burkman and Associates, LLC constitutes the largest robocall fine ever proposed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, according to a statement from the FCC.

The FCC fine is related to 1,141 unlawful robocalls to wireless phones between Aug. 26 and Sept. 14, according to the agency.

The messages told people that voting by absentee ballot would ensure "personal information will be part of a public database that will be used by police departments to track down old warrants and be used by credit card companies to collect outstanding debts."

Nessel’s office said at the time that authorities in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois reported similar robocalls being made to residents in their states who live in urban areas with significant minority populations.
