Shouldn't he be more worried about his throwing ability?

That was my fundamental reaction

If some woman is chasing you with a suction wand at 03:00 hours, maybe running is the primary concern.  ?

Not sure now, Chad's past misadventures all sort of blur together in an unholy mess. ?

If he were able to turn his life around personally and on the field, it would be quite a reclamation story.

Dude was given more chances than any human being because of his uncle.

If he had no talent at all he wouldnt have continued getting chances because of Uncle Jim.  Montana's kid played college football and went nowhere, Jordan's kid played college basketball and got nowhere.   Chad got chances because he is good at football.  He may have a ten cent brain but he can play football, that fact is undeniable.

To be fair there are plenty of players currently in the NFL who have had more chances than Chad Kelly.

I would add that he had a cycle of success/screwup/success.......... that earned him another look.   Red Lion/St. Joe's/Clemson/EMCC-Ol' Miss/Denver/Indy(?)    He had some real nice runs against SEC defenses  (a TD against Georgia comes to mind) so he can scoot.  Without a combine or Pro Day numbers his athletic testing is off the grid but it would have been pretty high for a QB, imo.  He was throwing over 70 yards as a 15 year old.

The QB situation in Indy will be tough for him with Eason picked in the 4th and without preseason games to show well in.  Camp observers did not think he was beating out Lynch or Walker in the practices but on the field in actual game conditions he played very well.

Jim Kelly’s backup qb signed him after he was cut after being a 7th rounder by his friend Elway.  Chadwick does have some talented but it’s really naive to pretend like he has been given more chances because of Jimbo.

I think the stat is he’s been kicked off his high school, college, and pro teams.  Impressive.  Again, how many guys get more chances than he got, who have proved absolutely zero at the NFL level?

You’re naive.  Chad has/had talent, yes, and that’s why he got a scholarship to Clemson (which he subsequently effed up because he’s a moron).  Then, yes, he had a decent career at Ole Miss but didn’t even get drafted until Jim’s buddy took him at the end of the 7th round.  Then, after failing to impress in Denver, Jim’s other buddy signed him in Indy.  This jackass of a kid is ONLY in the NFL because of Jim’s relationships.  Period.

Perhaps Montana and Jordan had more morals than Jimbo.

Name one QB who's had this many chances with a career stat line of one rush for -1 yards and 0 passes?

He's a bum.
