Post your ideas for a new nickname for the NFL team in Metro DC.

Can be funny or serious.

Can be based on their color scheme, geographic location, whatever.

Washington Wafflers.  Tribute to the nature of the political culture of our nation's capital.

Foggy Bottom Breakdowns?

DC Tom Judges?

Joe Theismann's Red Legs?

EDIT:  Foggy Bottom Shakedowns.  That two way street between lobbyists and politicians.

Porkers?  For all the pork-barrelling that goes on in DC?

Also pays tribute to the Hawgs offensive line.

Red Tails. Tuskegee Air Men in WWII. Someone might have thought of this first, but it makes sense.

Hogs actually wouldn't be bad for a DC-based team and does have the added benefit of tributing that line.

Could bring back the Senators name.  They folded long before the modern era.

Not only have they thought of it, but already mocked up the logos 👍

But they kind of located no where near Tuskegee.  Are they relocating?

There's the "Redtailed Hawk" tie in for a mascot, and fits with the other "Birds" in the NFL (Eagles, Falcons, Ravens, Seasnakes).

Would work for me

Not all team mascots are related to their city.

At any rate though, based on their statements to this point it sounds like they're trying to thread the needle between honoring both Native Americans and the military with their new name, so the already trademarked Washington Warriors seems like the best bet so far.

Go the soccer route and just call them Washington FC

Hogs is the perfect name.

Obviously because of the famous O-line, but it's also a nice spin on the Beatles' (Harrison) "Piggies," which describes Washington, D.C., to a T.
