It’s a need because as soon as Tre went down on Sunday night the reality of having Kevin Johnson and then no one was sobering. Taron Johnson can’t play outside and Levi is a good but limited player. Siran Neal can play corner in a pinch but I wouldn’t want him out there 1:1 with starting nfl WR. Ford has been a liability at RT just about the entire year. I'd rather draft a DE than another CB. Kevin Johnson is young and can develop into a solid #2 CB. As it stands right now, and I know some aren't going to like it because we have done it a lot, but I am taking the best CB available in round 1. The WR position is VERY deep in the draft this year and I would look at taking one in the 2nd and possibly even the 3rd round as well. I would use our $90+ million in FA to get pass rush help. With the way the NFL game has gone, I honestly believe it is better to have elite talent at CB and that will allow some average to above average talent in the front 7 to get to the QB because you could blitz constantly with 2 lockdown CBs. I mean, just imagine right now if we would have paid Gilmore and still drafted White where this defense would be. It would almost be impossible to score against us. Brown as a high end #2 and Beasley in the slot are good. I think they need one more starter, there might be a depth need but not sure they need to put major resources to add a 4th WR. As far as the ranking of this team's needs if they are able to resign Spain, Shaq, and Phillips I would put DE and WR as the top two needs. Now I think they can find a top DE in free agency (while still being able to retain the team's major free agents and sign other players to extensions.)
