May as well ask why no aid was given to Ukraine for 3 years after the Russian invasion, despite its clear national interest to the US.

Zelensky      Poroshenko      (7 June 2014 – 20 May 2019)

73.22%        24.45%    April 2019

Because like everything else, they were against/for it before they were for/against it.

That's too simplistic.  The real reason is that Obama didn't want to start a direct fight with Putin by arming Ukraine, and used Ukraine as the pawn in the game (evidenced by the leaked Nuland/Pyatt call in 2014)

One of these days the true story will come out of who was truly afraid of antagonizing Russia.

It's the reason he pulled out of European Missile Defense and told Putin, through Medvedev, not to start ***** until after he was elected.

It’s the Dems worst nightmare that the Senate opens up the impeachment trial of President Trump. First witness called - Ciaramella, Second - Schiff, Third, Brennan, and on and on and on. AND they’ll be playing under Cocaine Mitch’s Nuclear rules.

The part that's going to be interesting is who will show up.  I can't see how this can proceed w/o the courts deciding which subpoenas must be honored.

If Trump is impeached (and thrown out) he could still run in the election and then serve for 8 more years, correct?

It depends. Removal and disqualification from ever serving office are both constitutional sanctions, but they require separate votes in the Senate.

Which is exactly why the House will vote to impeach.

They'll pass this hot potato off to the Senate who will be more than happy to run with it. The continued attention will further piss off the public and the Republicans in the Senate will be the ones left to look bad.

Both sides are tone deaf to the public and the Republicans will be the ones left holding the bag.

The Democrats don’t care about anyone being exposed or looking bad. They'll gladly sacrifice a handful of people to make the overall republican party look bad.

With the impeachment vote being along party lines, likely with a few Dems breaking ranks, and the trial in the Senate exposing them, I think this will blow up in their faces.

Nothing to see here, The Left fears everything. Everything except an all powerful government telling them what to think and do.

What it means is that the threat of terrorism is aiding and abetting lawlessness at the top of government.

This can only get worse from here.
