When is Allen gonna learn to take care of the ball? Football 101 buddy.

No doubt, he needs to protect the ball with both his hands and arms when he runs, moreso in traffic.

Allen knows. He's sort of at a crossroads. Many young QB's get here. He has to start making smarter decisions but continue to be agressive. It's a thin line. I'm afraid he'll start to be afraid to make a play. If that happens he's done.

I just don't think he's built to be afraid.  I also don't see that theory playing out in game.  He stays aggressive.

He may already be afraid and that is why he is morphing into Tyrod (Throw the F-ing Ball) Taylor...

Allen is so far beyond what Taylor is it's a shame you can't see it.

There's no evidence whatsoever that he's learning from his mistakes.

He makes the same mistakes pretty much every single game.

If Tyrod was playing yesterday we'd have won.

Only 4. Quite lucky in that regard.

so really he has 4 Fumbles. Not 13 thanks. But if you want to use 13 then fine

QBs have Fumbles. Ask Brady and his 52
or Mahomes and his 11

Or Watson and his 16

It's bad, but for perspective, Allen was tied for 14th in the league for QB fumbles last year (of course he didn't play the entire season so he likely would have been higher if he had). QBs that fumbled more than him last year:

Derek Carr

Jared Goff

Lamar Jackson

Dak Prescott

Case Keenum

Josh Rosen

Matt Ryan

Russell Wilson

Kirk Cousins

Patrick Mahomes

Marcus Mariota

Deshaun Watson

Carson Wentz

He's undoubtedly off to a bad start this year in that regard though. Point being, QBs fumble the ball a lot in general; Allen fumbles more than most but he's not a huge outlier or anything.

He isn’t morphing, he has always held the ball too long.

Let's not go off the rails, Taylor is a below average QB who never showed any type of improvement as a QB in 3 years. Allen is showing signs of becoming a good QB and with this defense and running game that's all we really need. My faith is shaken but I would like to see how he bounces back in the next 3 games before I pass judgment on Allen.

I think most people can agree with that honestly. Doesn't mean moving on from him was the wrong decision, or even that picking Allen was the wrong decision.

No going off the rails.  The point is that a game manager who plays it very careful with the ball was all it took to win that game.  Josh wants to improvise every play and be a superhero but he still hasn't gotten used to the idea that he's not head and shoulders better than everyone else on the field like he was in college.

I'll go "off the rails" even further: Barkley might have won that game for us if he had played the whole way.
