Would have loved to see where his songwriting would have taken him. All of those classic hits were done in a two-year recording career.

Croce defined Saturday mornings when I was a kid. I hear a song, it takes me back.

Harry Chapin sang about a taxi? Perhaps that's what has you confused?

It was a poor attempt at humor, but yeah, that's what I was going for..........Not only did he sing about a taxi, but he died young.

I thought he died in a taxi............Might be mixing up my singer songwriters

And songs.  Harry Chapin sang about flying (metaphor for getting high) in his taxi... But was killed in his VW by being rear-ended by a semi on the Long Island expressway.

If you were playing baseball and up to bat... You would have struck out badly by taking three strong wiffs at the air... But not before fouling the pitcher off on 20 consecutive pitches.  LoL... You were listening, but just couldn't put it all together.  Kinda Nathan Peterson-esque. I'd put you on my roster!  LoL...

RIP Jim. Can't believe he was only 30.

Sucky bus drivers too.

I always think of this song whenever I visit a big city. Love to see the sights, but happy to get home to a quieter place.

Thanks for posting.  Another great song.

I like how you can understand all his lyrics clearly without having to google it

He had a mug meant for radio, I think his career would've been over by the MTV video era in the 80's.

He was one ugly sommabitch.

But Fagen made it. I mean SD, pretty much the entire band?

And cheesy, small planes. I’d venture to say airplanes rival overdoses for taking the lives of young musicians the most.

add a small-town garbage runway with a grove of pecan trees at the end of it (wtf?) which clipped a wing ... tragic combo

DF’s New Frontier video still rules.

It is a good video (and I've never been a music video fan). I particularly like that the artist isn't featured in it. (Even better that Fagen's ugly mug in it.) He also had a pretty trippy video for Snowbound.
