I think the money shortage thing is false front.

My personal feelings are they are trying to fend off competition.

If it looks like your going to bleed red financially maybe it makes Vince M has a change of heart. JMHO

I was thinking about that, but could an NFL team make an offer to a player and then ask that they stop playing in order to avoid injury?  I am assuming/hoping, they took that into consideration from the beginning.

I am willing to bet NFL coaches are watching Spurrier to see if they can take anything from his play book to incorporate it into the NFL.  He is so fun to watch on the sideline.

Love the old ball coach out there

Isn't simms the qb that had the infamous backwards pass for the bills in pre season?

Yes.

Keith Towbridge just made a 1st down catch for Atlanta.

Too bad John Kling went down on the next play. He's a former UB standout. Looks like he broke a leg. Gruesome.

Yep. From Buffalo...wearing a blue #70 jersey...with a bad leg injury...having an Eric Wood flashback.

(I guess it's actually a purple jersey)

John Kling, Atlanta Legends Tackle is the best Tackle in the AAF

He is a UB alum and I grew up with the family .. he has been with the redskins the last few years

he is massive and would be a good camp spot for RT

What's Kling's injury status.  IIRC he was carted off with a nasty leg injury last week

How bad is his ankle injury? There isn't a place to get that kind of news.

The QB's in the AAF are terrible.

The receivers might be worse. The players on the team that lost to Birmingham were dropping almost every pass.

I don't know but he looked like he was in horrible pain. :(

I don’t have the exact injury update... I haven’t talked to his family in a week or 2....

but i know it was pretty serious and he was carted. I wouldn’t expect him back soon..

Really? The idea for a spring football league was "stolen???"

This guy should be careful what he wishes for. Didn’t the AAF just take a 250 million loan? So, basically, suing for a 50% stake would be like suing for 125 million in debt?

....could be a nice start to a minor league/developmental aspect similar to MLB or NHL.......but the beleaguered, cash strapped NFL owners could NEVER afford such a venture......flood of Chapter 11 filings and lined up for soup kitchens would result.......

How do you steal an idea that was tried at least 2 times before?  The USFL can sue too.  Maybe they'll get another $3.

In other AAF stuff it's snowing in Salt Lake City for tonight's game.

I see Memphis actually won a game after benching whats-his-face.

Sal Lake City is the frozen tundra of the AAF. ?

I was at the Memphis game yesterday.  Entertaining and fast paced.

Awesome.

Going to the game is a good experience. Quality football and at 2.5 hours with a light crowd, it's a great weekend event for the kids.
