I am worried about Kiko

I was a little disappointed in Phillips yesterday saying Kiko is a great guy. Your guys are in this his locker room now.

If you don’t have anything mean to say about a dirty opponent then don’t say anything at all!

Notice Kelso's immediate reaction, calling for the benches to clear, and compare that with other recent Bills reactions to this exact same thing, which was mostly nothing.

The difference between a guy who played on a team that went to 4 straight Superbowls and dominated the AFC for an era vs. .500 Bills teams I guess?

Remember Gronk trying to kill White for example?  Don't remember any benches being cleared...even though they should have been.

Good to hear this from Kelso!

I LOVE Mark Kelso on the Bill's radio broadcast.  So knowledgeable and passionate about the game.  We don't have cable, so when we don't go somewhere to watch the game.. I end up listening to the radio broadcast.

This call just makes me like him even more

It was almost required, standing by another NFLPA partner, but I agree it wasn’t accurate. Kiko is dirty as evidenced by his play over a few years.

Kid needs to rethink everything. Kyle is evidence you can play with a high motor and wreck less abandon and not be dirty.

At this point is Kiko even much different than Vontaze Burfict ?   I mean c'mon, even when Kiko doesn't land a direct hit he seems to give that little extra side business that the fans rarely see.

Vontaze is more talented probably. I doubt he misses that torpedo attempt lol.

Players routinely call out dirty players, so I'm not sure what you mean by NFLPA. He is entitled to the same representation, but not a weak response like Philips gave. I really question the team make up when they respond like that. Good teams don't get the mild response like the Bills do.

He's a step behind on every play. I can't remember the last time I saw a Bills QB expose and embarrass a player as much as Allen has to Kiko this season. You can actually see his frustration every time Josh gives him the "what's my name" treatment.

I am huge and I was always a half step behind quicker players in hoops and totally accidentally trucked a few in my time.

That's not to say Kiko wasn't doing any of those three most hi-lited hits on purpose.....

People react differently to being part of a union. Some follow blindly and, add in the fact that he played with Kiko, and it’s not too hard to see what transpired.

I don't understand that point about "standing by another NFLPA partner".

I know it won't be popular here, but ... looking at the slow motion, I'm not seeing any thing egregious about Kiko's hit. Yes, under current rules interpretations it will be flagged. While it's off screen, it appears that he started toward hitting Allen before Allen had clearly gone into a slide. Then he kind of alters his trajectory once it's clear Allen is sliding so that it's just a glancing blow. I'm not so sure what everyone is so agitated about. I imagine it has more to do with Kiko's history than with an objective look at this particular play.

He does have a tendency to take cheap shots, but he ain't Burfict level, if only because Kiko himself tends to shy away from the direct high impact collisions that Burfict specialized in (and that will no doubt result in long term damage to Burfict himself)

I hear you, but I disagree.  I wouldn't agree if Kiko hadn't whipped his leg up and back into Allen's neck and helmet.

I don't think that's incidental.  These guys are top athletes.  They have the body awareness and body control of top gymnasts or they wouldn't make it uninjured into the pros.

Also, there's the saying once is an occurence, twice may be a coincidence, three times is a pattern.  Luck, Flacco, now Josh.

YMMV

Absolutely agree with you and further Kiko has both feet planted as Allen has already started sliding and then launches himself low at Allen.  None of it is an out of control continuation, it's purposeful.

Was Allen asked about what he thought of this play? If so, I missed his response.

https://www.buffalobills.com/video/josh-allen-a-lot-of-progress-this-year

about 4 minutes in

He mostly gave props to Shady (for getting him out of there) and to the OL for "step(ing) up and hav(ing) my back"

Said he wants to play with guys like that.

About Kiko, said it was "sad to see him leave" (said seriously, but ???)
