Do you drive in the left lane (fast lane) on highways?

I'm usually in the left lane because I am doing 15-20 over but if the right lane is open I'll move over. There's not much that pisses me off more than someone doing the speed limit or under driving next to another car doing the same speed and blocking traffic from passing. That and people that are driving slow and you go to pass them and then it turns into a race.

i hate people with weak minds that will drive like you said slow, then when you pass em they speed up.    Figure out how fast you want to drive and go that speed. If I'm on I95 and i'm going 70, i'll stay in the right lane and let people get past me.   NO need to try and be a pace car or speed up when someone goes by, they're not going to beat me where I'm going.....But I think some people believe that.

Depends.  Sometimes you have to put a "pick" on so you are not the one caught speeding. The cop will catch the easiest fish.

Again.  Urban a whole different reality than rural.  I will shift between the two in same commute, outing, whatever.

I've owned a fire red Ram 1500 for 4 years, i know all about evading LEOs.     They'll hunt you down if they can.

Don't drive red.  That is the worst color.  Blue is your bet.  Or a color that blends in.

I know.  I didn't buy it for the color, i actually hate red.  But at the time, in central FL, back in 2014 the market was so bad, there were literally no trucks that fit all my criteria in my price range but that one.   I haven't had any issues, i really try to keep the eco button lit up which means i'm getting more than 20 MPG.    That and it's got 99k miles and I need another 100k out of it so i take care of it.

You must have been on the 290 this morning.  You in a pickup in the far right lane going slower than the rest of traffic, people passing around you and making it a bit crowded in the middle lane next to you.  Your solution to break free? You cut someone else off to your left. You then cross the middle lane and continue your slow progress westbound in the far left lane.

Awesome driving!

Generally I drive really slow in the ultra fast line while people behind me are going insane.

I don't care to speed all that much any more, I've mellowed.

Rarely in the passing line of the 400 series highways in Toronto any more.

I know Fl gets a bad wrap for having crap drivers but if i see a Michigan plate, good lord I give those morons a wide berth.

I used to regularly travel to Michigan for business. 80MPH on the highway for me and still getting blown past by others. I'm also convinced the Big 3 auto manufacturers have suppressed road repair work up there to make cars wear out faster!

On topic, I only get in the left to pass. If you hang out in the left lane for no reason, I'm going to find a way to pass you and then pay it back by slowing down for a minute.

I never believed this. I've had blue, green, white, red, silver, blurple (wasn't quite blue or purple) and pewter. Blue got pulled over by far the most followed by silver, pewter, blurple, white, red, green. The white red and were pulled over once each.

I agree.  I am doing this in urban driving.  Every space available.  A commute will be rural to urban.  Once I get rural, open... I go right. Stay right.

Yep, if nothing else the cops tend to target the left lane.

Not if they can't get out into traffic.  Why the signs exist on the NYS Thruway to stay right.

Pack all up two abreast and how are they going to pull out (from 0mph to 70mph without getting slammed into) from the medium?  Create a cluster eff and then it becomes a guessing game (like it ain't already) on who did what.

I can see the advantages to staying left in urban congested driving.  Like sand thru a funnel, use every lane possible.  Why would traffic be dragged out miles single file.

Another thing that grinds my gears. Driving on interstate for long distances with cruise control on and you pass the same car multiple times. Happened a few times this summer and they screw up flow of traffic.

I usually set the cruise at the speed limit and stay in the right lane except to pass the occasional semi or grandma that is going slower than me.

Occasional semi?  LoL...

Semis are allowed to go 65mph max here. All others 70mph.  Going to keep on passing semis all day and night.

I drive through the night.  With electronic log books with semis... Most are sleeping.  Also, you don't get that many passenger vehicles. Cities are a breeze too.

70 is the limit here for all vehicles. Most of the big rigs I see  are within 2-3 mph either side of it so when I set the cruise at the limit I get passed by about as many as I pass.

I’ve encountered you again my friend.  This time you were driving just west and south of Cleveland in the furthest left lane of three lanes while the others were relatively clear.  The posted speed limit was 70 mph and many signs along the way saying pass on the left. You were going about 40 mph.

With this background out of the way let me say that the rest of us must admire your brilliance.  We were incapable of reading the pass on the left meant pass the guy who is going 40 on the left.  We completely failed to honor your need to look at the cell phone GPS sitting on your lap, how inconsiderate of us.  I guess our synapses fail to fire in the same elegant and brilliant ways that only yours can.

I do hope that you responded my one fingered communication and later found the heights of sexual ecstasy that you so deserve.  In fact further down the road there was as billboard indicating that “Adult World” was being visited by Stormy Daniels.  I assume this is where you were headed as a man with your intelligence and sexual prowess could not pass up such an encounter.

Have a great Thanksgiving holiday and I hope not to run over you on the way home :D

I try to stay in the middle lane or right lane. One thing I've learned about the left lane is its open game. The left lane could be any speed between 60mph and 90mph. Theirs been times I've been doing 70/75 in the left lane and someone's riding my tail because it's not fast enough for them. The middle lane and right lane are a safe bet of 70 or below.

I do a lot of traveling my friend. It's a jungle out there, and sometimes I just need to slow down and gather my bearings.

My biggest issue is when my GPS and cell phone start arguing over the correct route. It's when this happens, that I just throw my hands up in the air and break out the ether. This is probably what you witnessed during your travels.

As far as Stormy goes, I probably would have stopped if it were 2006, but alas time waits for no one.

We drove back from the lake yesterday and there was a car just rolling along in the left lane for miles. My wife had to pass her on the right. I said “that’s what you do to people.”  Bold and making the world a better place, or just stupid? I’m not sure.

My grandma flipped you off as she passed you the other day.

Did she evoke the Charles Barkley excuse?

Oh, wait, maybe she didn’t get caught?

I risk going to hell if I connect the two. Are you really not aware?

It’s as funny as his golf swing is disturbing.

Are you okay?  Just checking....

I am a left lane driver who usually goes about 10-15 over the posted MPH.  I gladly get out of the way when someone wants to go faster.  I drove on the Autobahn regularly about 25 years ago.  My experience was that Germans know driving etiquette pretty damn well and could be an example to most US drivers.
