I always appreciate them. It’s telling of this regime that you’ve been getting more and more angsty with their decisions.

Jim Caldwell did an ok job with the Lions but there was never any true belief he'd lead them to a Super Bowl. That's how I feel about McDermott. He'll have some success, but it will be outweighed by his failures. The signs are all around you. These guys aren't it. What is the parallel between Jim Caldwell and Sean McDermott that shows their careers will be the same? Jeremy Kerley played for both of them? I was a late adopter to “the process.” All that I said at the time is let’s see what these guys do before we give them a key to the city. McDermott got the most out of a mediocore team last year. I think that he’s a decent coach but I don’t really trust him. He’s also an egomaniac and so set on his guys. I don’t believe that he values talent nearly enough. Twice, he was okay starting Nathan Peterman. He doesn’t belong in the league. I give Beane a little more rope at this point despite some obvious mistakes (ie keeping Kerley for a week allowing him to hit the cap). He had to tear it down to clean up the cap. His career will be dependent on Allen and the next offseason. We are either going to be in great shape or a disaster. This is a real crossroads for the franchise. It’s where the Sabres were when they hired Tim Murray. Everyone loved him at first and he ended up being one of the worst ever. We will see what happens I guess.

I see most of these roster moves as Beane’s doing. I have little trust currently in his talent evaluation (pro or college). I don’t think we were in cap hell, but we are now. I do thibk if youre a good coach, you’re a better team than the day you showed up. If you’re a good GM, you have more talent than the day you showed up. Currently we are neither, and that’s concerning. It’s risky to tear down, because if you can’t replace, you’ve decimated a roster/franchise for 3-5 years minimum. He’s gotta be the best GM in the NFL next year in FA and the draft for this to pan out, because we released most of our top talent. I agree. If Allen pans out, Beane is fine for a while. He’s directly tied to his success at this point. Edited September 15, 2018 by Mango

I think it’s an “incomplete.” He has massive pressure now to get this right but he is operating with a clean slate. They are going to have to draft well and spend in FA. They have a lot of holes. Problem with your complaint: Our "top talent" consisted of a decoy WR, a rotational DT and a LT who was chronically injured while with us. So, not exactly top talent. " Why do so many - including "professional" media people - keep talking about the Glenn and Taylor TRADES as if they were only salary moves?? Without those two trades (for picks), the Bills don't have Allen and Edmunds right now - they are the future of this team. You are astute and perspicacious. The Bills haven't had a franchise qb in over a generation. The organization did what they had to do to get an authentic franchise qb prospect. And yet some people are bothered by that. It makes no sense.
dollars 2 donuts
Forgive me for stating the obvious so late in the day on this topic, but wasn't Kerley our number 3 receiver at worst, but in reality our number 2?
