Did McCarron cost us Mack?

AJ's spectacular comeback vs the Da Bears may have convinced them that Mack was a necessity and caused them to up their offer, leapfrogging the Bills.  McDermot should have put in Logan Thomas for Q4.

It was like the ghost of Doug Whaley without the wasted extra 1st rounder, or was it two wasted 1sts, I always get that confused...

Why would anyone invest that much money into a guy 27 ,  who is undersized and coming off a off year?  They gave up (2) #1 picks and then signed him sick level money,  he may have 2-3 good seasons left in him.  We are not talking about Bruce Smith or Reggie White here

Just makes Beane look like a fool only getting a second rounder for Sammy who was only 23 when traded.  Should have been min 1st rounder

Watkins has done nothing in his career to justify a first round pick.  Should tell you something when a team trades a 2nd round pick and doesn't re-sign the player.

I think this is almost what happened. I think after the game the Bears were so impressed with AJM that they offered a package of 2 first rounders, a 3rd and the rights to the ghost of Urlacher (who is still alive). However, Beane saw the chance to mess with EJ Manual one more time, told McD "hold my beer" and moved McCarron to the Raiders. Once the Raiders got AJM, Mack became expendable. No,need for a pass rush when you have "Mr. Comeback". So, not wanting to come away empty handed, the Bears offered pretty much the same package for Mack.

I don't think so i believe that how McCarron being traded to the Raiders came by Bean talking trade with them for Mack & McCarron being part of that trade but Bean wasn't going to go with 2 first rounders so when that deal fell apart the Raiders decided to come back to Bean & take McCarron in a separate deal giving the Bills a 3rd round pick ...

I dont think so. I think the two first rounders and the 23.5 mil cost us Mack.

I wanted Mack too, but that’s just too much when we need wide receivers and an entire oline.

We dont even know what’s going to happen to Benjamin. We might need a #1, and #2 next year.

I think the dismal performance of the last two games cost us Mack.  Beane realized that he can't trade away an armada of pics, the first of which may be a top-5, for one player when he has so many needs

I personally would have made a move for him.  It was never going to happen though.  Beane values draft picks and cap space more than talent.

Reports are that OAK strongly preferred sending Mack out of the AFC. Jets were very interested too. The deal would have had to be much sweeter than CHI offer to trade Mack in conference . This team isn’t just a player away, they’re in year 2 of a total teardown / rebuild.

1)I think Beane was reluctant to give up 2 First Round picks and a player.

2) The news that Mack wanted more than Donald probably made him shudder.

On point 2 I agree but on point 1 McCarron may have raised the price of poker.  Maybe he could have been had for a 1 and a 2 until the Bears got nervous.

Buffalo’s known drinking issues are clearly visible here! REALLY, a team as devoid of talent, especially at the skilled position should give away multiple first round picks (and this year it’ll be top 5) to trade for Mack, then hand him a $130 million contract. All this with a $46 million in dead cap space . Nothing spells success in today’s NFL like Buffalo’s passing game!

and from this you decided that AJ MaCarons 4th quarter comeback in a meaningless preseason game was the reason this didn’t happen!
