They added a 5th and a 7th so now have a 3rd, 4th, 2 5th, 6th and a 7th. They may still love around the board. Hopefully they can get an OL and a WR at 96 and 121. Maybe something like Tyrell Crosby and Dante Pettis?

As always you hit the nail on the head today Kirby with a post.  Superstars come in the top of the first round.  The second and third rounds are Preston Browns.  While we may not like the QB pick -- getting Edmunds follows that philosophy.

Three 5ths, ours Jacksonville's and Baltimore's.

Losing 53, 56 and 65 hurts, especially in this draft where the 2nd and 3rd round was supposedly very strong. If Allen and Edmunds end up being star players it was worth it. Otherwise...Ouch

Using 5 picks to choose Allen and Edmunds is definitely an ouch.

God, I hate trading up. Losing 53, 56, and 65 is not good.

That’s why they got these picks. I don’t love  Allen but they went and got their guy at a decent price. Edmunds had no business being on the board and they jumped. He was thought to be a top 10 lock. They saw a potential star, at a position of need, and got it done. I’ll never complain about taking impact players. Bodies are nice but you win with stars. Edmunds could be that (Allen could too).

ARZ got better value for Rosen by giving up only a 3rd and a 5th.

I see your point. I just hate trading up lol!

As much as I hated the Allen pick, I'll get on board and pull for him. I hope he can become something.

And the value for Edmunds made sense too, in terms of what we gave up. I wish I could say the same about Allen.

I think we have seen an MO for Brandon Beane tonight and it is measurables and ceiling. McDermott had a slightly different MO last year so that is at least interesting.

Edmunds was worth it.  There is a pretty decent chance that he will be the superstar stud linebacker we need for this defense.  Vander Esch and Evans went shortly after so that says to me that the needed to trade up there to get the guy they wanted.  Allen?  We will see.

If they said Rosen instead of Allen I would be on cloud 9.

You don't expect 96 and lower to be stars; hopefully, you get a couple of contributors with those picks. But getting rid of the 2nd round and 65 picks means that Allen and Edmunds must be stars...and soon.

I would guess concussions and fumbleitis? Not to mention being a warm weather guy. Hey...water under the bridge now.....focus in on Allen!

It is going to need a lot of focus. I wish him well. He has a long, long way to go.

Agreed.  One of those guys would have been available at 12. Giving up 2 picks in the 2nd is hard to swallow. Could have addressed some serious needs there.

Disagree.  Zona was jumping us for sure and depending who they took Miami may have taken Rosen or traded back.

Oooops... I didn't realize that Tampa threw in a 7th rounder as part of the Josh Allen swap last night.

Rome

Correct... Jim Rome wasn't built in a day.

I seem to remember that the LB MIlano was taken in the 5th round last year... and he had basically become a starter by the end of the season.  Maybe they can do that again...

I might be mistaken. I thought that they got one in one of those deals.

You were right... I missed it.

Franchise QB of the O and D!! Let's gooooooooo bufffffaloooo

This!

Since McDermott came people have said that the most important role on his defense is a rangy, sideline-to-sideline ILB (a Luke Kuechly type) and Beane has been clear that you have to have a franchise QB (as if we all didn't know that anyhow). The Bills went out and shored up the two most important spots on this team with 1st round talent. Both picks could be argued to be value picks, BPA (I know Allen detractors won't agree with that, but...), and fit our needs. Will it work out? Only time will tell, but I love that they were aggressive in trying to get long-term solutions at those two spots.
