Mental Health Issues in the NFL - Zay Jones

Anyone notice all the Major headlines (ESPN.com NFL.com etc.) regarding Zay Jones incident?

They all just state a guy being arrested for property damages... This story is not a 'property damage' story and the article titles are intentionally misleading IMO.

I think it shows how sensitive the NFL still is with any association to mental health issues.

No one knows what caused the melt down.

There's 29 pages of expert testimony on this board alone as to what caused it.  A combination of synthetic drugs, likely flakka, amphetamines, and deep seeded depression stemming from childhood trauma from that time in the park when a man in a dirty clown suit threatened that if I didn't poop on his chest he would kill my whole family.

All I've heard is property damage - probably because I only noticed the major headlines.  What else happened?

Anyone notice there was already a long thread on this?

He kicked through a plate glass window on a balcony with his foot and tried to crawl through it to his impending death 30 stories below. His brother grabbed him before he got through and stopped the suicide.

Your welcome. Now you do not need to waste time reading the link.:)

You forgot the part about Zay being buck naked at the time.

Or the part when he exclaimed: "I'm going to fight for Jesus."

Or the physical altercation Zay had with his brother prior to kicking out the window.

Thanks for posting the video.  Sounds like flakka is a real possibility.  I noticed the video appears to be about 3 years old, so the problem has only become worse.  Hope there is a solution soon, which I would guess will have to come from the kids, themselves, deciding not to use these synthetic drugs.

Because "property damage" is the only actual proof we know of in this story. To speculate on the cause of his actions is irresponsible journalism (despite the fact that tons of news outlets speculate all the time).

IMO, Zay strikes me as a level-headed kid with the right type of character/attitude to have a decent career in the NFL. I think the dude has been chasing the pro football dream since he was little and that kept him away from the party scene through high school/college as he held his focus on making it into the NFL. Now that he's in the league, he's probably cutting loose and experimenting with things he's inexperienced with.

There could be some underlying mental health issues but unless you're his doctor, nobody knows for sure.
