Cousins to Denver?

I can't remember a SB with less juice than this one.  Maybe SF-SD, but at least that had Young storyline.

PHIL takes 20-3 lead. NE wins 21-20 because of poor clock mgmt and PI call vs PHIL.

PHIL receiver catches the ball at the three stumbles into end zone and loses the ball after getting hit in the EZ.Ball rolls out of bounds.

1st and 10 NE at their 20.

Ok here is the difference in the 2 pending QB transactions.

1. Any teams are ok to talk trades even though they can't be finalized until the new league year. In Alex Smiths case this is what has transpired. And if KC wants to grant permission for Washington to negotiate what deal will be signed when the trade is finalized...that is Kansas City's choice as far as I know. Again, deal can't be made or contract signed until new league year.

2. In the case of Cousins, he is still under contract and set to be a free agent when the new league year hits. If Washington can work out the trade parameters they are still withing their rights to tag him and negotiate a deal with Denver. They can also give permission to work on a deal to be signed upon trade completion.

In both cases, nothing is official. Either deal could conceivably fall apart until completed. In any event there really isn't a case for tampering as both players likely have permission from the team that owns their rights to negotiate. Very similar to when Colin Kapernick was allowed to visit Denver's facility and try to work a deal a couple of off-seasons ago.

Well, if all this is true then I guess we can stop with all the Cousins and Alex Smith talk on here.

Bring on Bradford talk, it'll be great watching him play in 5 games before he gets hurt.

You think he will go that long?  Or were you including preseason?

Lasted one game this season and attempted to come back which lasted 2 quarters. I see 3 quarters next season as his goal.

But the trade deadline for the current season was back in November.

So they can't trade him in this season, and unless they franchise him, he's a FA as soon as the new league year (and trades) are allowed March 14th.

I was wrong

As much as I may not want to admit it, Denver makes much more sense than Buffalo for Cousins.

Yes, they were worse than us this season, but they are barely 2 years removed from winning the Super Bowl. They have a veteran team, a lot of good, skilled playmakers on offense and a good QB could really put them over the top again (assuming their defense rebounds).

The head coach may be a question mark at the moment, but other than that they have a whole lot going for them.

I feel that Buffalo is a team on the rise and should be looked at more favorably by free agents. But we just this year broke a 17yr playoff drought. I'm guessing that the Bills have a lot more proving to do to the rest of the league before we are really taken seriously by free agents looking to win (especially if they're not just looking to win, but win a championship).

So OBD again asleep at the wheel, no Smith, no Cousins, does this mean no high draft pick used on a QB either?

So sick of OBD going all in on QB purgatory, will Tyrod return or some other teams backup again? Same fail different staff. They never try for one so we will never have one.

Schefter was on his weekly spot on local station today and while he didn’t report this, he did say he believed Washington was likely open to his agent talking to other teams for awhile now

That part is believable.  Personally, I hope the rumour to Denver is true.  I don't want this guy on the Bills, while I realize this probably puts me in the minority opinion.  I would rather see another QB spot open in front of the Bills in the draft.
