oldmanfan
Saints lose in the last play because a DB lowers his head and throws a shoulder instead of actually tackling a guy. One thing I liked about our D: the DBs played good fundamental football. Wrapped up on guys.
mjt328
Agreed. I get so tired of these cornerbacks tackling like that. If I saw a player on my team tackling like that, I would cut him immediately.
GunnerBill
Shocking shocking play. If he just tackles him the clock expires.
Ennjay
Same thing on a lot of Fournette runs. There's a difference between hitting and tackling.

MAJBobby
Happens more than it should because the rules have FORCED DBs to adjust their TGTs lower to avoid head
RiotAct
Just watched the play. Holy crap, was the safety (who inexplicably ducked like he was trying to dodge a bullet on the streets of New Orleans or something) trying to go for the INT there? Talk about a brain fart...
apuszczalowski
I think it was more of move to prevent hitting him early and taking a PI penalty. The timing of the hit was off.
Coach Tuesday
The amazing thing is the Saints have been tackling like that for YEARS. It transcended be Rob Ryan era and continues to this day. It boggles my mind.

About where they can TGT the WRs. DBs are moving their aimpoint lower because of the head shot flags

But whatever let's do whatever we can to take away from a team that destroyed us, made it further in the playoffs and lost on a fluke play to point out some conceived positive. The whole basis of the thread is just whacked in my opinion

He lowered his head to the point where he could not have even seen the guy he was trying to hit. He missed him by a mile.
Doc
That wasn't just a lack of fundamentals, that was a lack of anything resembling football.
