But this one seems so, considering they are already planning their exit from The Cap. How long will it take to earn a return on this investment? Kirby Jackson Posted December 16, 2017 Share Posted December 16, 2017 I have no idea why they’d make the investment if what DD says is true. It will be done for basically 5 seasons. With that being said it was necessary to upgrade. With tickets being as accessible as the are now teams have spent the last 10 -15 years trying to add amenities and access. The Bills have done a nice job on the access part. The tent at camp is nice, the field passes, draft party, etc... Then maybe because of the height of the top of the stadium in relation to the ground level, put some sort of cover over it. As long as it doesn’t fall down, we probably don’t need a new stadium. Are you maybe thinking of that clause in the stadium lease that didn't allow a team to leave until 2022/23? Or Pegula saying that the NFL was pretty adamant that they wanted the Bills to eventually build a new stadium? The NFL can't force Pegula to build one, though. Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted December 16, 2017 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Don't see anything about how much this will cost, how much they make in concession sales, and how much more they expect to make as a result of these renovations which not surprised to not see any of that listed. So considering we basically no nothing, can't see any reason to question why they are doing it. Likely compared to the cost of a new stadium and what they may be able to make in increased sales could mean the payback is less than 5 years so then why not. sullim4 Posted December 16, 2017 Share Posted December 16, 2017 I bet this is a play to increase club ticket sales in anticipation of capturing more sales for the new stadium project. When I go to the games, I always pick up tickets in one of the sideline clubs. The seats themselves have excellent sight lines and the club amenities are nice without removing you from the stadium atmosphere. The restrooms are cleaner, the annoying drunks are quickly taken care of, you can watch Sunday Ticket after the game while waiting for traffic to clear... it's money well spent if you're planning to go to the game. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The lease just tied the team in WNY and made it less appealing for people that purchased to the team to move them. They were basically “stuck” in WNY for 7 years (or whatever it was). In terms of the Pegula’s they definitely care. They aren’t cheap. They aren’t competent either.
