Prior to leaving for the Navy, my mother made me promise the same thing that she make my brother promised years earlier .... that I wouldn't get any tattoos that could be seen when I'm wearing a short sleeved shirt. I kept the promise; one on each bicep and one on my shoulder blade. She made us promise that specifically for the purpose of future employment opportunities - and I'm glad she did. I do have two friends (married couple) who each have nearly full sleeves. He is a banker; she is a registered nurse. I have an "M" on each cheek. When I bend over, it says "MOM."
