I think it had to do with the message his agent put out that if he was drafted outside the first round he wouldn't sign and would reenter the draft next year. Fins have Albert and James at Tackle, and continuity in coaching staffs is gonna be high on the priority list for a guy looking for a payday after year 3. Gotta think Philbin is on borrowed time and probably gone if they don't make playoffs. Rex and his staff probably safe for at least 3 years. And he gets to block for McCoy. My guess is that they are trying to get a commitment tonight. If you have the 1st crack at a guy that 32 teams want you have to try to get it done before anyone else gets a chance.
