All your juicy Odell Beckham gossip

Don't leave out the Raiders in making stupid decisions. Though they don't have the money in this case. -
I’m kind of Over the Hines Experiment
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
In today's Athletic, there's an article in part talking about how much more effective the Bills offense is when both Hines and Cook are in backfield together. So the the experiment is just ramping up. -
The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that was the problem, by the time his elbow hit ground, he/it was OB. If that whole play occurred in middle of field would have been an Int. -
A few observations from the opposing team fam

The ejection part was what surprised me. Initially I assumed Kirk H was confusing college rules with NFL. But then ref said he was out?? -
Actually that was a mannequin as if you noticed he never moved.

Edmunds Haters eat some crow.....
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Kwai San's topic in The Stadium Wall
So for the reasons you mention, Spencer Brown is now the new whipping boy as after playing like a total of bout 20 games and off season surgery, he's not all-pro yet. -
The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Think when he came down on the ground, if that occurred in bounds would have easily been an Int, but because there was a juggle and by that point he was OB, ended up being ruled incomplete. -
Gabe Davis missed one game and wasn't exactly healthy the first few weeks. This is the 2nd game Morse missed, Brown has missed two, Knox missed one game plus wasn't completely healthy in others. Crowder played a total of 4 games, and McKenzie also missed one. On top of that Allen has been less than 100% healthy past 3 games. So is far more than those two you mention. All starters I mention, didn't even bother with back ups. How quickly we forget!

I'd think if the defense did that more than one time in a row, the officials could call them for unsportsmanlike conduct. I believe too the offense could decline the penalty which would restart the clock. I think there are rules to prevent a team from making a travesty of the game which I'd call this tactic borderline.

Sunday night game is NE at Vegas. Not exactly riveting football, but two good drawing teams. That game also isn't marked as potentially changing. The Bills are designated as one of the five potential games being moved to Saturday. Of the 5 games listed, the only other one with two potential playoff teams is Wash-Giants. If they move the Bills to Sunday, they then have even less good games to select from for Saturday as they need to move three. Not sure if they are even allowed to select from any other games to move to Saturday, but overall few good ones except for the two scheduled from Sunday at 4:25 and doubt CBS would allow those to be easily moved. For these reasons, would be very surprised if the Bills are moved to Sunday night, but would also be very surprised if the Bills are NOT flexed to Saturday.

A rule I always felt is somewhat unfair. Or the Bills could have maybe flinched just a small amount, take a chance it's not seen by officials and gain 5 yards again for off sides. Maybe the lineman moves his back hand or something less easy to see by refs? Take the opposite situation too, team is driving on like the 18 inch line. 2nd and goal. Why not try and jump the snap count. Worse that happens is you lose 9 inches. But maybe instead gets offense to flinch first and now push them back 5 yard for procedure.

Ravens and Lamar do not reach contract agreement
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah but he also has to deal with the fact he doesn't just own a business, it's more like he owns a franchise and corporate doesn't like their franchise owners speaking like that as it hurts the overall bottom line, not just his own. Likely there will be ramifications from above. -
Bengals and Titans also have pretty tough remaining schedules remaining. The one team with a pretty easy road is KC so will be tough. Their best chance at loss may be next week. On the other hand last season KC was cruising to easily have the #1 seed. They still won it, but was very close by year end. If I recal lright, if Bills had beaten Tenn, they'd have been the #1 overall even with all their mid season losses.

Kyler Murray: How did the Cardinals fall for it?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, there have so many of these stories about QB's who look pretty good, but not really good enough. But there's a huge shortage of actual franchise QB's so teams take chances. Rather than as you suggest letting them walk if not certain, they double down for fear that starting over is harder and no assurances that won't be in the same spot in another4 years. At least they know what they have in the present guy. If there were no salary cap in the NFL many of these guys would be OK. But once you give your QB franchise money, you have to make cuts and weaken the team in other areas. That's when you find out this guy can't carry the team. There's probably about a dozen either great or very good franchise QB's in the league that are worth the money they are being paid, but probably another dozen making close to the same money, but not worth it and now the rest of the team has been gutted. IMO the QB position is in better shape today than it's been in the last 25 years with more guys being worth the money, but still nto enough to go around for all the teams -
Trouble is too many teams are expected to be strong in April when schedule is completed end up having poor seasons and other teams surprise. Rams, Packers, entire AFC west were expected to be be good, on the other hand not much was expected from Jet's, Giants, Minn, Seattle and don't think many expected Miami to be quite as good as they've looked. Add it all up, end up with some bad featured games on TV!

Why has tackling become a struggle?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to UKBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fixed it for you! Backups are backups for a reason. Can you get by with one or two and still play well. A team as good as the Bills should be able to and for the most part have. But this past game, missing both DE, LB, FS, All pro CB played two series (not criticizing how he was used either) Other weeks Milano was out, think twice. Wasn't there one game earlier both Milano and Edmunds were out. Oliver missed was it two weeks early? Right now though, think the biggest loss is Edmunds as with his size, really shuts down passing lanes. On offense missing 2 OL, plus a QB with lingering effects from an elbow injury. Brown, Knox, and Davis have missed a couple of prior games each I believe too. Think the only position group on the entire team not having had injuries in the RB group?? -

Criticism of McD and coaching has reached insanity level…
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lot of people didn't like the McD pick to start with and in the early years, could find many "see I told you so" moments to show he's not a good coach. Last couple of years, these moments have become harder to find so when it does happen, they come out of the woodwork again with the same speech. Think it's more a case of proving they were correct all along than even criticizing the coach. But that's the online world we live in, everyone wants to prove they're the smartest guy in the room and much easier to do online without negative consequences than face to face.
