Is There So Little Love for Tremaine Edmunds?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
He'd be a steal at $10 mil. Likely he'll be looking for around $15 mil, Spotrac places him at $14.2 mil. Prior to this year not likely he'd have got that, now he likely may get $15 particularly when you factor in year to year increases. Edmunds may not have the stats to back up it, but his abilities are vital to Mc'D's scheme so if you don't resign him, you better find a clone to him particularly around size and speed. And goods luck finding that! He makes the pass defense so much better do to his size clogging up passing lanes. -
So did you make the playoffs in your fantasy league?

I hate the Bills Schedule - Is this done on purpose?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sure Miami isn't too happy with two back to back west coast games, 2nd one on a Sunday night followed by a Saturday night road game in Buffalo. 3 game road trip including a short week on the road in a cold climate. Ironically both games were flexed, one to Sunday night and other to Saturday. I'll bet Miami would gladly have traded the home and home dates with the Bills at this point to avoid this stretch. -
If the Bills wear red, doesn't that mean the Fish will be in white? White uniforms in the snow sounds like a bad match for the Dolphins. May be the reason the Bills picked red to put them in white?

Tom Brady Unwatchable Moved Off TV
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
The irony was I live in Carolina, so spoofed my IP address so could instead watch the TB SF game as figured that would have been the better game where as the Seattle Carolina game was on local TV. About 5 minutes before Fox made the switch I changed back to watching local station with Seattle Carolina game. Hopefully this makes Brady mad enough that has a great game next week at home and beats the Bengals! -
Today it was the only thing that was working against this wide 9. Left the middle open for runs. Take Allens runs away, doubt they win today.

12/11/22 Week 14 GAMEDAY Bills vs Jets Pregame Thread
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Newsflash even when always not right, they are still about 100X more knowledgeable than you are. Are they always right no, but to criticize when you know little compared to them is a sign or ignorance. -

There's always next week! Yes you're so much smarter knowing nothing about the game plan, players health, and actually seeing them up close. Keep telling yourself how smart you are! -
All your juicy Odell Beckham gossip
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you go by the T White schedule he's out for year. Sounds like Dallas is somewhat cooling off on him too. Maybe teams have figured out, he's likely not going to be ready till late Jan at best. Rad a couple articles that said he may be able to get more money by sitting out year, then in off season taking a one year prove it deal as teams are less likely to give him what he wants now getting this late. Could also just be Jerry trying to drive the price down. Will see soon I'd imagine. -
Von Miller ACL- Out for Season

The fact that they didn't know it was actually an ACL may mean it's a mild or partial tear??? Maybe not as long a recovery?? -
Lamar Jackson leaves denver game with knee injury
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, but whats the alternative? Let him go and start over and hope you get someone better? The odds aren't in their favor. The year Allen was drafted was rated as one of the all time best QB classes ever, second to 1983. Look at it now, one superstar, one very good, (Jackson) 2 FA, and one starting right now, but more out of desperation. The simple answer is the Cowboys should have paid him less. But Dak would had to have agreed to that and not very likely he would have as some other team just as dumb and just as desperate as Dallas would have offered him as much, maybe even more to leave Dallas. Teams sign these guys, fringe stars to contracts only worthy of the elite and cross their fingers that maybe he'll improve even just a little bit as a little bit could get them over the top. Will be interesting to see what happens in Baltimore. Will Jackson realize his ship has passed and he needs to sign for less or again will some other team think they can fix him and offer him the big bucks. Likely he'll be tagged, but that only works so long. That's also a big risk on Jackson's part, more than the average player as much as he gets banged up. I'll bet the big bucks from some team. -

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
How can you create a list like this and leave out Brady?? LOL Actually was curious which group you'd put him in today. He's kind of a wildcard as still very good probably belongs in the franchise group and could argue elite, but knowing that signing him is a big risk as one of these days he will completely fall off the cliff. -

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
QB and maybe kicker (though that one doesn't matter much) are the only two positions in the league where there isn't at least 32 two very good to great players to go around. That is where teams get in trouble paying these guys top $$ hoping they can get by with him, but typically weakens the rest of the team around him as not enough money left to go around. There's a long list of QB's who got fairly large 2nd contracts only to never see the end of it as teams finally figured out this guy isn't cutting it and better to reset, usually happening after a coaching change. -
Was Elway still running the show when that trade was made? My vote for worst ever would be Ricky Williams trade and 2nd Hershel Walker trade. Here are five bad ones: https://athlonsports.com/nfl/5-blockbuster-nfl-draft-trades-did-not-pan-out

Dolphins/Bills - Saturday, December 17th, 8:15PM
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BLeonard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Week 16 is right around the time the Raiders make their comeback every season! Agree both teams have legit shot of at least one of them making playoffs. But TV is more concerned with rating win than which is the better game. I think in this case what caused the change was both teams Wash/Giants in playoff hunt AND they both have big TV markets. -

Have to say I am surprised that they pulled NE and Raiders from Sunday Night. While not a great game, are two popular teams with good draws. Not that NY Washington aren't. -
Do recall reading at the time the odds of winning the game only went believe it was from 94% to 97% if they kicked the FG. Where as if the had scored a TD would have gone to almost 100%. The point in the article was that it wasn't really a bad choice to go for it as little would have changed.

Lamar Jackson leaves denver game with knee injury
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's the reverse of what happened with Allen. Jackson started strong won MVP 2nd season so he's the next coming of the greatest player ever. Once you get the reputation hard for the media to let go. Allen on the other hand started slow so he didn't get much benefit of the doubt till maybe late last season with the media. Even now there are still some who say Allen is nothing special. Can also argue many of Allen's completions too are made due to play breaking down and his scrambling. The difference is he has superior arm talent compared to Jackson so can make much more out of much less. -
I've often wondered if Allen had been selected already, who would the Bills have taken instead? Likely either Mayfield or Darnold would have still been available at #7 then.
-
Agree, could see Seattle doing it just to make sure he doesn't go to SF.

Pushing teammates forward. Should it be legal or not?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
On one of the games I was watching yesterday, don't recall which one, the announcers were talking about this and are convinced this will be a rule change next year making it illegal. Believe too in the SF game last drive by SF was 3rd or 4th and about 1. Tried a QB sneak he was going to be stopped well short. But then CMC who initially lined up about 7 yards deep now comes forward with a full head of steam and drive the QB forward another 2 yards for the the first down. Thought this play was the ultimate example of the "push play"! -
2023 Salary Cap expected over 220M

Everytime there's early predictions on what the cap will be, it always exceeds that amount by a fair amount, so not too worried. -

The obsession w/ how Josh Allen runs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kind of off topic but am watching the Big-12 Conference tittle game. Bad throw was made by the TSU QB for an Int. Kirk H is announcing the game, just back from Thursday night Bills-Pats game. His comment was unless you're Josh Allen, you don't attempt to make that pass.
