  1. McD coaching win percentage .611, Peyton. 68, not a huge difference. Peyton also had a number of bad years in there too. Coaches for the most part hire assistants they've worked with prior. Did Peyton work with Reich, if not probably won't happen. Having said all that, assuming the Bills don't win the SB, wouldn't be shocked to see the team get rid of Dorsey and would maybe bring in a guy like Reich as OC. Think the issue with Dorsey is he's an ex QB who has pretty much just coached QB's till this season. That combo seems to make Dorsey too pass happy. Can see him being the mad professor type scheming up exotic pass plays for Allen and not spending enough time on run game. Reich is also an ex QB, but has embraced the run game in Indy.
  2. Wow didn't know you were privy to the Bills playbook and know that they had better plays they could have run had they had more time. Apparently you also know that was the play deep into the end zone, that Allen didn't just take the deep throw. Sounds like you would have called a better game than the coaches. On 1st down he threw short but incomplete. Had it been completed, they could have called TO but no need. 2nd down went into end zone, but you have have no idea if that was the called play. On 3rd down he was sacked for loss and took TO. All I recall seeing on TV was Allen getting sacked, don't recall seeing end zone view to know all WR went deep into end zone. Plus if they called TO earlier how do you know they wouldn't have still run same plays at the end since they didn't have any TO's left. At the end of the game think it may have been a player called the TO as initially the clock was stopped at 5 seconds, then reset back to 7 seconds. How could that happen? Here's my take, before they ran the last play, McD told the sideline official stay by me so you'll hear when I call TO and he did and McD called it with 5 seconds left. But then another official came over and told the head ref, #XX called a TO before and I looked up and there were still 7 seconds left so they reset it.
  3. Before half time they took the kick on 4th down. So assuming they had used a TO, there would have been more time on clock, but still 4th down. It wasn't like the Bills clocked a ball to stop the clock on that drive and wasted a play. If they had taken a TO just would have meant a KO and possible drive by Detroit, so explain again how that was bad? At the end of the game pretty sure a player called the TO as initially the clock was stopped at 5 seconds, then reset back to 7 seconds.
  4. Take away the Ints. in the redzone, we'd likely have beaten Minn and Jets. Can't recall were there also redzone Int's. against Miami, think there was??
  5. On #6 and 10 #6 The kick was close, but I felt watching the replay it was good. #10 Pretty sure a player called the TO as initially the clock was stopped at 5 seconds, then reset back to 7 seconds. How could that happen? Here's my take, before they ran the last play, McD told the sideline official stay by me so you'll hear when I call TO and he did and McD called it with 5 seconds left. But then another official came over and told the head ref, #XX called a TO before and I looked up and there were still 7 seconds left. So they reset it.
  6. So you feel the elbow has nothing to do with it, but he got hurt in week 9, pretty close to lining up with your assessment of when he went downhill. Listening to Romo, as an ex QB he likely has a better chance of understanding what that type of injury can mean to throwing. Good chance at some point he may have even had the same injury. It may not even be that it actually hurts him, but just affecting his throws. Overall my take on it is the injury, but also OL play and maybe defenses have figured out Dorsey's play calls. Allen's amazing arm can overcome much of this, but take that away the arm strength and he's maybe looking like a middle of the road type of QB. Then throw in some weak line play on top.
  7. Yeah well it's where things are. Beginning to think the defense is falling apart due to lack of Edmunds. They talk all the time about his size and how he shuts down the passing lanes. Once he went out in the Vikings game is when the defense fell apart. Will be interesting when he comes back.
  8. Yes, but he was a PS call up. They are only allowed to call him up one more time from the PS from what I understand. After that they'd need to move him to 53 and cut someone else. Could happen, but it's far from a given particularly since White now is back. I'd assume next week he'll play more.
  9. Or you could just as easily say: When our O can’t do much of anything, it’s putting so much pressure on the defense who’s playing without starting DE, LB, FS and had other DE leave game very early, plus all pro CB only played was it 1 series.
  10. Rhodes isn't even on the 53 man roster so a few things have to happen for him to play. Not saying he shouldn't be on the roster, but right now he's on the PS.
  11. So CBS graphic showed White and Dodson starting. Was that correct? I know I saw Klein on field on 2nd down
  12. I guess they weren't kidding when they said it was about a year recovery for White!
  13. Yeah probably more people passing out in the stands than on the field. Then add some alcohol and 95 degrees!
  14. Probably, though think there's a better chance of it being either a coach or official as they aren't in as good of shape as the players. Never thought about it, but when do the officials get a water break, maybe during TV time outs. Meanwhile players are subbing in and out and getting water whenever they want it.
  15. I fixed it for you. That's what Miami calls it. You may not like it. Is it fair, no oh well. Unless the NFL requires it, it's not going to happen and not sure the league has the authority to dictate wha ta team must do other than provide equal facilities.
  16. They rules require the same man made help on both sides, i.e. heated benches, fans, etc. One team will be on each side of the field. One side is always shady, the one advantage the home team gets is to choose which side of the field they get. The home team is in the same heat at the visiting team, minus the sun. Until a player or coach suffers seriously from heat stroke, it's not going to change and no reason to change it. It's the home field advantage. The one thing the league may do in the future especially since Miami has got better so more prime time games is schedule them for more early season night games and more road games, even a 4:25 start would better. Looking at the Miami schedule 4 of their first 7 games were at home, they had one Thursday night game ironically on the road and one Sunday night, but that wasn't till Oct 23rd. Is Miami requesting early Sunday 1:00 home games in Sept, don't know. That is one thing the league easily can control is they want. No Sunday 1:00's in September could easily be done as typically only 3 Sundays in the season. Give them 1 or 2 road games, plus a prime time game.
  17. Yeah but unless it's actually snowing, it doesn't look good. Cold or wind don't portray all that well on TV, other than seeing peoples breath. Actually that wouldn't work, if the Vikes didn't work, by rule they'd need to also turn off the Bills benches too. What the Bills could do is decide not cold enough for heated benches for either team and remove them. Don't know of any rules in place that require them? Recall back in the 70's Bud Grant would not allow heated benches in Minn for either team as felt his players were use to the cold so would hurt the visitors more. Didn't help him much though in warm weather SB sites. If I were a maintenance worker at Highmark, what I would do with about 5 minutes left in the Miami game, I'd go into the service room near the visitors locker room with a hammer and a punch. Not sure what happened, but a pipe burst, the good news is there was shut off valve about three feet in front of the leak so once we found the issue after the water running for about ten minutes, hopefully not too much seeped under the wall into the visitors locker room so were able to shut it off. But it was the hot water line so there will not be any hot water in the visitors locker room after the game. Sorry about that Fish, but you understand it is an old stadium. In other news for some strange reason McD awards a game ball to a maintenance man??
  18. Forgot about that one for NE. Yeah returns for TD's usually will win the ST award. I'm guessing the guy in Atlanta won ST in NFC for his kickoff return too.
  19. If the old rules were still in effect, may see that happen. Likely so little data to review, but wonder too, in the situation you describe, does the defense tend to pull up more knowing how easy it is for team to kick out of end zone, so they are more looking for squib kick or short kick, but it over the heads of first line of defenders, etc. Could be the receiving team is more in a natural position to defend the on-sides kick??
  20. I was more expecting to see Bass win than Milano win for defense. Wonder who did win it?
  21. Well actually he probably is right as in the NFL if you do any of those things you mention, you often will get a new contract for more money! For sure couldn't have been hitting girlfriend or wife. Admittedly with coaches, it is a much shorter rope.
  22. Not saying this is wrong, but can recall similar comments made about Daboll too. Many posters wanted to run him out of town the 1st couple of years. Admittedly we didn't have an overall roster nearly as strong as we do now either.
  23. See the Bills send donuts and coffee among other things to the Lions for doing all the did to have the game this past week. Hope they asked Tim Horton's to add some Ex-Lax to the recipe.
  24. Believe they just taxi all the way. There's a long runway that runs through the middle of Lake Erie, west to East. Need to have a EZ-Pass to use it though, no more cash.
