  1. I think even then in a workplace, the foreman or lead person on the floor may be saying "OK everyone get back to work" because he or she doesn't know what else to say or do. But then higher authorities will make changes, but it takes some time when dealing with unprecedented circumstances. The ref saying 5 minutes doesn't know what else to say.
  2. Yeah I've read that too. It was in regard to these medical TV shows that show doc giving CPR and patient comes back and everything is fine. But read that in real life, much rarer outcome.
  3. Right now it's one of these things where no one has any real past experiences in similar situations to know what to do.
  4. I don't really think Peyton is all that great a coach. He had one of the top 5 QB's in the league in Brees, won one SB, but that's it. He had 3 seasons with a 7-9 record in the middle of his career. Also lost a number of playoff games where he had decidedly the better team. Ask Diggs about that. One other thing I found of interest. I've read here a number of times quotes from people that they'd replace McD with Payton in heartbeat. Paytons career winning percentage is .631%, McD is .635%. I will note if the Bills lose tonight Paytons record is then better. LOL So is very close, but my point is Payton is a good coach but not as great as many make him out to. Probably could argue that Harbaugh did more in SF with less talent
  5. I don't know, you can grab Harbaugh for free, supposedly Saints want a 1st rounder for Peyton, will they get that, who knows? That somewhat levels the field though I'd think.
  6. From todays Athletic, an article talking about he last big big Bills-Bengals game in 1988 playoffs. The way the game was back then: A Wil Wolford quote: I don’t really remember the game very well because in the second quarter I’m trying to make a tackle on an interception and I got knocked out cold. I remember getting ready to make a tackle and the next thing I know I’m on the ground looking up, and Joe Kelly is dancing over me like a prizefighter. He hit me from the side and I never saw it coming. I stumbled toward Cincinnati’s bench. They’re all laughing. I’m not sure who got me straight to come back over to our sideline. Back then, concussions were not an injury. I kept playing but I don’t remember much, and it was not very good. Couple other interesting quotes from the article: Thurman Thomas: I remember saying to myself, “If we got this far, what can be our limit?” We got the AFC Championship Game with Jim throwing 15 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Today, you’d be in last place! This quote may explain why Boomer Esiason doesn't seem to be a real big Bills fan: At least (the Seahawks) tried doing it on the field of play as opposed to some other teams that tried to do it in the commissioner’s office and then STEAL the concept … and go on to four straight Super Bowls. Didn't remember this but couple hours prior to kickoff Levy had petitioned the NFL to outlaw the No-Huddle https://theathletic.com/4048401/2023/01/02/bills-bengals-afc-championship/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983
  7. Not surprising Jethro Tull would think this with all he has smoked. Keep dreaming, though many with tickets to game would call that more a nightmare to start. There's many better games than Bills Pats for Sunday night as pointed out. If Bills win tonight, then very likely Bengals Ravens will be Sunday night game for division title. If they lose, then more likely Lions-Packers or one of the NFC east games.
  8. Think if the Bills were to lose tonight, then no reason to show Bengals-Ravens Sunday night as AFC North sewed up plus if KC wins Saturday #1 seed locked up. Then maybe slightly better chance Bills game is Sunday night only for NE angle but still wouldn't rate it high.
  9. Think I'd still give the Jets the nod to be the best of the 3 going forward as they do seem to have built the best all around roster, when factoring in all three have big question marks at QB. Pats have the most cap space, but need to convert that into an actual winable roster. Can easily sign players that never work out.
  10. Bills are going to be either 1, 2, or 3 seed. Bengals can go anywhere from the 1 seed (low likelihood) or drop all the way down to 6 with two loses
  11. Don't know how many articles I've read that all say: with a Bills loss, setting up trips to Cincinnati and Kansas City in the playoffs Good chance Bengals could lose following week to Ravens which then would put the Bills back at #2
  12. Actually it's 2026 and they could be playing in Vegas again in 2027 if both they and the Raiders finish in same position in standings
  13. I'd say doubtful they'd do that. Doesn't seem like there's as many playoff deciding games this year as in the past. Most teams could be already decided by the tend of this weekend excluding Jax-Tenn. Mainly teams will be playing for seeding only week 18
  14. I've read a number of comments by the Bengal,s haven't heard anything from Buffalo. Of the 10 writers in the Athletic, 7 pick the Bengals. All good news to me!
  15. From what I recall the week 18 schedule is usually announced late during the Sunday night game, maybe around 11:00 PM. Likely NBC wants to be able to promo the game they will be showing before signing off, but everything else is also announced with it. This is kind of a unique situation as don't recall in past years a Monday night game having such importance on seedings. Who wins Monday night could change the seeding a bit, but but not like any single one of those games will be a play in game. Worst I could see happening is they decide to schedule the Bills Chiefs, Bengals games all for 4:25 on Sunday, but more likely the Bills will be at 1:00 on Sunday IMO. Found a link form last year that confirms my recollection, was announced late during Sunday night game on Jan 2nd of week 17 schedule and a 2nd link stating will be announced this Sunday night. Unless the Bills Bengals game is such a game changer, would imagine this will hold true. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-announces-week-18-saturday-games-sunday-nighter https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/nfl-week-18-schedule-predictions-odds-eagles-giants-playoff-picture-20221230.html
  16. Bills lead the league in rushing yard per attempt at 5.3 yards but are 14th in rush attempts. That is partially deceiving as much of that is off long gains by Allen. But also seems like the Bills either gain 10 yards on a run or are stopped for a loss so not sure rushing too often is a good idea. Overall when their passing game is clicking I do think that is more sustainable long term to move the chains when too many rushing attempts for no gain. That was where Moss was supposed to help as a player who'd move the chains 3 to 4 yards most times he touches the ball or on a bad attempt 2 yards or so. With a player like that you could often be looking at 3rd and 5 which helps but often when the Bills would try to run, they'd then have 3rd and 8 or 9 instead. PS One thing I thought is bad the way the NFL counts rushing yards for QB's. Barring designated runs by the QB, If they are caught behind the line due to scrambling it counts as a sack, but once they cross the line it's positive yards. So basically anytime Allen scrambles he's going to get credited for positive yards or it's a sack, he can't lose.
  17. Yes, but even the week prior he played against Miami and they ran the ball well that game too.
  18. Just think of Saturday.... as in Jeff Colts fired their coach, won the next game. Many times when a team fired their head coach, they play better, particularly the first game or so, Carolina has been playing better of late. Could be very true in Denver as from everything that's been written, Hackett was a real mess. Have to say, read a couple articles about Hackett being fired, but don't recall reading at all who is interim head coach??
  19. And with VanRoten on the field too? Hard top imagine he's an improvement, but the numbers don't lie
  20. Based on play on the field only Watson and Wilson deserved the contracts they got. Murray really never did and never was a superstar, more an up and coming young QB who showed potential. But they paid him the big bucks too soon.
  21. These teams you mention with two top WR's for the most part drafted at least one of them and then may traded for the second. Bills have already done that with Diggs so as others have said time to draft and develop the 2nd one. Most of those teams too Miami and Bengals for certain, will be interesting to see what they do when those rookie contracts end, will they be able to sign them all? Maybe Miami can as they don't also have the big $$ QB at least not yet and doubt Tua will be become one of them either.
  22. Agree, but also think OBJ was hoping to pick up some pocket change for this season. But that doesn't appear to be working out for him. He could always try a Go Fund Me page!
  23. From what I read if a team signs him they'd either have to immediately place him on the 53 man roster, but then kind of have a wasted roster spot till he's actually ready, or place him on IR so he can ramp up to speed. But if place on IR he has to stay there for 4 weeks. Assuming the Bills signed him tomorrow and then get the #1, he'd be eligible to some back for the SB, no earlier. If signed after this week, he's out for the first three playoff games. Think at this point OBJ is done for the year!
  24. But didn't heat least come out of the game in that one?
