  1. Agree. Don't understand why lineman aren't taught to automatically jump. I suppose the risk is if they move too late and the D lineman is already back, or they think the guy jumped, but he didn't go far enough or the ref didn't see it. But overall agree jump up and down. Maybe it's one of these things that's much easier to see from up high on TV than when you're in the trenches, so that's why they don't do it more often.
  2. Agree if you can get someone from the outside, fine. But within the roster they have right now, he still may be there best option if not their only option.
  3. Hard to take someone seriously when you mention Joseph a six round pick. By year 3 only about 35% of six rounders are even still in the league. You do remember Phillips was out last year with an ACL? The LB group excluding Alexander who retired is the same as what finished 2nd was it overalll last year on defense?? One of the things that I thought was going to help the Bills this year was they brought back 18 1/2 starters from last year. only changes were Diggs, Lorax and give them a 1/2 for Lawson and J Phillips as they weren't starters, but they did play a lot. Overall they didn't sign that many FA, but many they did sign were all concentrated within one position group and they did change alot on the def line depth wise and that was before they lost Star. They have 4 new players from last year plus Phillips who barely played last year. Without any off season workouts, then no normal training camp and pre-season think it's made it hard for them to jell. It may take awhile. I do wonder in hindsight if Beane knew how the off-season was going to go, would he have instead tried to re-sign Lawson and/or Phillips mainly for continuity. Though likely every GM would say the same.
  4. Certainly would agree in both the Raiders and Jets game, they out played the Raiders/Jets, but game went down to the end. and almost lost First half the Bills controlled things pretty well, though the Pats D stopped the Bills. 2nd half to me it seemed Pats outplayed Buffalo. Cam either threw it into the dirt or had made some very good passes. Was one extreme or the other it seemed.
  5. So if you put him on IR will the team be better with whomever replaces him? LB is probably the position we are thinnest at to start with. Likely it's one of these injures where he's been told playing with it won't make it worse, but won't get better until he has surgery at season end.
  6. Out coached by the greatest coach of all times and still won. I'll take that! Not sure either that you can say the Pats had no right to win. They ran more plays, more total offensive yards, very close on time of possession and 1st down. Both teams had key players out.
  7. #1 Almost seemed like Dabolls plan today was we are going to prove we can run it and just keep running which for the most part worked. But do think a few more 1st down passes would have helped some. #2 There was one run by Moss outside to the left, thought he'd be better staying towards the middle, no idea though if that was the call to go wide or he bounced it out. #3 Feleciano was a huge difference. If Morse is out next week, wonder if we'd be better with Bates at center and put Feleciano at his normal position? #4 Wow, first time I actually recognized the lyrics! #8 Allen took what they gave him. #9 Do wonder if Belichicks kids will cause dissension within the coaching ranks and even the players. Kids of reminds me of the Chris Polian situation.
  8. Think the A is way to high, around B sound better. The int wasn't really on him and wind was bad. They also ran maybe too much so put Allen back there passing when everyone knew he was passing which doesn't help. Almost seemed like the game plan today was "we are going to show that we can run the ball today no matter what" Which to their credit, they did. On the other hand a a D+ for last week sounds way too low, 300 yards, a hair under 70% completion, no int's and nine drives within scoring position. Yes no TD's but many of those weren't his fault. Was it his fault that Davis didn't line up right on the line or the O line holding that pushed them way back. Don't recall some of the other drives anymore, but was much better than a D+ performance IMO.
  9. Read an article today that claimed the reason the Fish changed to Tua was because they have two 1st and 2nd round picks both this year and next. So they are the team that could trade up as high as needed all the way to #1 overall as they have the most draft capitol in the league. Therefore they want to play Tua now to determine if he's the answer or do they need to get a better QB in the upcoming draft. Granted they need a trade partner but in theory they could move up more than anyone else. If a team like the Bengals ended up with the overall 1st, could see them trading the pick or Borrow.
  10. Think thats the one position we need more than any to help with stopping the run.
  11. Yup out coached by likely the best coach of all time and still won the game!
  12. So who would you switch too? They have tried just about every lineman at the 1 Tech and someone looks good for maybe 1 game at most, then the next week the same thing is a disaster. LB they were weak at back ups to start with, throw injuries in there and no better options for the most part
  13. So who started at #2 CB for Bills Wallace or Jackson? I missed hearing
  14. So in two weeks with no early CBS games due to Masters will they still broadcast games in the late slot to the entire country or will they just be broadcast to the regions of the teams playing. Normally there isn't much broadcast competition going up against the doubleheader game. If the late game is broadcast all over the country would be different. I'm hoping broadcast all over as for me down in Carolina, a good chance the Bills Az game could be shown as of the 3 games in that CBS slot, that's probably the only one with two good teams playing so could see that one going to most of the country if anything goes to most of the country.
  15. Really like what specific positions? other than possibly #2 CB and OLB who typically rotates out on 3rd down anyway can't see any rookies starting. D line is one of the two deepest positions on the team. Admittedly no one is great pro-bowl level, but they have alot of depth and can roll out 9 guys as good as him. AJ was likely drafted to become Murphys replacement next season. He was drafted around #50 overall and dropped a huge amount from where he was originally expected to go. Bottom line The team doesn't need him this year. While I'd think unlikely I suppose too it's a possibility he is being sat out as about to be traded.
  16. There's an article in todays BN about Bojorquez backing up the stats you're stating and how the Bills were able to acquire steal him from the Pats. For the past two years practically everyone here was trying to run him out of town. If GM decisions were made by up/down votes here, he'd be long gone. Now he's doing well (except when he looks for the laces) My point is Bass could be just like him, also a rookie, shows enough in the games and even more in practice that the Bills aren't going to give up on him. He has the leg required to play in western NY as did Bojorquez . Excluding a complete meltdown, doubt he'll be going anywhere this year or even next unless the team can somehow get someone markedly better.
  17. Made the comment a couple years back, but am surprised Belichick has never signed a contract to do Microsoft commercials. Yeah others break them too, but seems Belichick is the league leader in broken tablets. I'm sure MS could write a neat script for him to explain how breaking them shows what a good product they are.
  18. Yeah if they had cut him before cutdown day in September, then nothing guaranteed. But for a vet think it's with more than 4 years after opening day their contract then becomes guaranteed. If he wasn't in the final year, anything for next season onward again would not have been.
  19. Interesting when I saw this thread, my first thought of Adderley was as a Packer, but then saw thread was started by CowgirlsFan. Do recall him with the Cowgirls though too.
  20. If it's not instant gratification, it's no good to many around here.
  21. Would agree if he refuses to restructure, then maybe yes he's cut, but otherwise see them adding a year and cutting the $$ back a fair amount.
  22. Do remember the game, recalled it was the Jets, but didn't remember who they played until read it here. Was reading an article the other day about Fox winning the broadcast rights in 1992 to the NFC games. Something I had forgotten about until Reading the article, prior to that the score of the game wasn't on the screen all the time, usually only at commercial breaks and once i na great while during a long drive. Will say watching the KC game on Fox last week, I do like how they show the QB's stats all the time too and maybe the stats for the RB or WR who made the last paly
  23. Yup terrible, 2nd year in the league, they switch him from tackle to guard after the first season, no mini camps, no pre-season games, somewhat of a limited training camp, and when he reported to camp the plan still was for him to play tackle until Feleciano got hurt, then switched him to right guard, then two games into the season switch him to the left side and the guy isn't playing at a pro bowl level. Many times Allen barely has six seconds to throw the ball, under extreme pressure every play it seems. Terrible, what a waste!
  24. Could see him playing some on a low pitch count. Kind of easy with a O lineman to play one series each half, then go back out and sit for a while. If it ends up being some extended 15 play drive, maybe he comes out after 10 snaps at most. We also have no idea how much he has been working prior to being activated. Hasn't he been able to practice the past three weeks since the "clock" started for activation?
