  1. It's funny how everyone blames coaching for the devastating injuries the Bills endured. Also, if you don't think the Sabres have a very bright future, you aren't paying attention. Even their developmental talent is looking really good including all 3 of their 1st round picks from the most recent draft. Oh! You probably didn't know they had 3 picks in the 1st round, did you? They've hit on a very good GM and coaching with a ton of talent in the pipeline. They already lead the NHL in scoring. So they won't be really good in the near future? Because something didn't happen in the past, doesn't mean it can't happen in the future. The right building blocks are already in place. I'm really excited for the Sabres.
  2. If you look at KC's roster, it's clear that they place far more emphasis on their OL than on skill players other than Mahomes. Smith-Schuster is their best WR. He's above average and Hardman is decent, but the OL, other than RT, outclasses them by a mile. Their RB's are basically average and could easily be replaced. Give Josh time and the ability to hand off the ball until the defense forces him to throw and he will be the next MVP. His completion rate will go up and his picks will drop way off. If he isn't forced to run as much, his fumbles should drop as well and his injury risk drops too.
  3. It's a tough loss, but you can't justify a huge LB salary when your OL is crippling your offense and urgently needs multiple upgrades. We're going to have to spend some serious cash on the OL if we're serious about winning a SB. I just hope our HC who was a DC understands this. Our D was significantly better when Edmunds was available, but that's also because our backup LB's are awful. Put an average MLB in there and use the cash saved on the OL and that will be a net plus for the team. Our chances largely depend on Josh. We need to protect him and run the ball much better and more often to get the most out of our QB.
  4. Who will do it first? Will it be the Bill's hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, the Sabres hoisting the Stanley Cup or neither?
  5. 5 hours ago, GolfandBills said: Dipping into the chiefs cast offs! Here we come! _____ So that's why we signed him? Because he played for a specific team once upon a time? Why would that be a criteria for ever signing anyone? I can see a coach bringing in players he's familiar with like bringing in players from a coach's former team, but beyond that I see no advantage. You don't really think Beane and McDermott are dumb enough to fall into that mindset, do you?
  6. Let Poyer and Edmunds walk and replace them with average guys. I'm tired of having such a weak OL. I'm not saying they are bad players, but the state of our OL is pathetic. Besides Dawkins, we have nothing but backup caliber O Linemen. We'll still have a solid secondary and avg + Milano is an above average LB corps. At least shore up RT and get a decent LG or get 2 OT's and move Dawkins inside.
  7. There's no evidence in the public domain to cause me to lean one way or another on his guilt. I don't even know if he's done in court or if a verdict was delivered.
  8. No WR in round 1 please. I don't care if we trade up or down, but I'm tired of our OL being an afterthought. We need a razor sharp focus on upgrading the OL even if it means letting other FA's walk. We can win with an average back end on D and a great DL, but our OL is as bad as just about any. It's holding us back.
  9. Perhaps. He certainly knows the value of a good OL and it has paid off. Hill walks. The OL is improved and they hoist the Lombardi Trophy again.
  10. We need to add a couple studs on the OL and serious threats at RB and WR2. Between all of our guys in the slot, I think we'd be better off using our resources on the OL. I think that's Beane's and McDermott's biggest drawback. They just haven't done enough for the OL and I believe it's the #1 reason why we can't win the SB. Josh is our greatest asset. Give him better protection and a solid run game and he'll have his best season to date.
  11. Don't go to the Jets, please. You aren't great, but you're way better than Zach Wilson.
  12. I hope they don't let the people on this message board influence them.
  13. The accountability falls clearly on Von Miller, Micah Hyde and Da'Quan Jones on defense. They weren't available when we needed them. On Offense, the OL simply didn't get it done. Others may share in the blame, but they own the lion's share. Maybe we should have run more, but with a bad OL, both running and passing are much harder. I also think Dorsey needs to change his mindset and establish the run much more. He's putting too much on Josh. As far as unloading or replacing anyone, the entire OL except Dawkins should be replaced and Gabe Davis should be WR3 as before. On defense, we just need to get healthy and replace whoever we can't afford to keep. I suspect they won't resign Singletary or Poyer or most of the guys whose contracts have expired, especially Saffold. I know Saffold did his best, but clearly injuries have taken their toll. Also, Dorsey needs help. I'd give him another chance, but he knows he has to do better.
  14. I hate commercials, but I'm not watching the game anyway, so I won't have to suffer through them.
  15. 22 minutes ago, John from Riverside said: I appreciate the work that went into this That’s too many offensive lineman in one draft You have to figure that we’re definitely gonna draft at least one and then we’re probably gonna bring in a veteran Beane always says free agency is for filling holes, so I'd expect him to sign a replacement for Saffold before the draft as well as average guys to compete for positions where we lose salary cap casulties. (RB, S, LB, LG, DL & probably at least 1 WR)
  16. On 2/9/2023 at 9:52 PM, Dopey said: And then…? Rehire Russ Brandon and watch him destroy everything Beane has accomplished. Seriously, I have been a sceptic about the Bills for a long while, but some posters here make me look like the eternal optimist. Oh no! We lost to a great team! Fire everone immediately! Where's the accountability!? Get over that nonsense. The roster needs to be tweaked, not blown up.
  17. 1 hour ago, Buftex said: In season, Locked On the one I listen to almost daily. I agree that it can be a little dull at times...and it make me realize, you can overanalyze things too! I also listen to the Chris Simms "Unbuttoned" podcast when I can, to keep up with the rest of the league. I find him fairly entertaining to listen to I like Chris Simms also.
  18. I love the focus on the OL, but I'd like WR help on day 2 plus a WR FA unless we find a couple real OL bargains in FA -- Unlikely in a time when good OL are relatively few. I think signing WR FA talent will be a little easier since we are looking for a WR2. 15 hours ago, Chaos said: I traded Morse. One will be guard / back up center I could see this happening. He's pretty average now and probably overpaid. I would still be surprised, though.
  19. 8 minutes ago, Momma Pecoraro said: Nyup Parrino and Talbot. Marino is good on draft analysis. His show bogs down when he spends time reciting biographical information of players, seasonal rankings and statistics of teams and players that can be gleaned elsewhere. Tedious. Show should be 15 minutes tops unless ‘herd mentality’. Why? What do you like about it?
  20. I'm happy for Daboll as long as he's not beating us. I'm also not sure Hodgins is a major talent. We'll see about that. Also, I was not aware of any rift between McDermott and Daboll. McDermott is the main reason Daboll is a NFL HC today because his previous OC stints in Cleveland and Miami were miserable. McDermott gave him a new life in the pros. Maybe some other team would have gotten around to it eventually, but we acted first.
  21. Mine are Locked On Bills with Joe Marino and One Bills Live. I also like Mike Catalano a lot. Also, Arthur Moats has a Bills podcast on YouTube now. There are also a few very weak podcasts as well, but I won't mention names. Do you have a favorite(s)? Which one(s) and why?
  22. Given our cap situation, I don't see further progress right now. Beane would need to produce his best draft by far for this to be even be a possibility. Drafting has not been his strong suit, but he's done OK. If we don't sign an ok, but not too expensive replacement for Poyer, I'm afraid we'll waste our top pick on a S. We MUST do a serious upgrade of our OL and then add a couple weapons even if it means letting some guys on D walk. We've ignored our OL problems for too long. We need a very solid run game so Josh doesn't have to do it all himself. Besides, if our DL starters stay healthy, they can make up for minor deficiencies on the back end. We need to extend Da'Quan Jones too. Oh, and Go Sabres!
  23. Clearly the OL is the top priority with WR as #2. Safety is a priority as well, but I think Benford mitigates our need. Look for an affordable veteran S signing to compete.
  24. I think we should just fire everyone at OBD and release all the players. Then let the TBD Forum crowd run the franchise. They always come up with brilliant ideas like this one. Championship!
