  1. Our OL still sucks really bad. I would love it if our first 2 picks were RT and G then sign Hopkins and an average FA MLB. We could still add depth at a number of other positions that were exposed last year as much weaker than casual observers thought. Also, how are our DE's any better with Von still on the mend? It's the same guys. I'd also like to add a FA blocking TE with soft hands to compliment the current group. I really think Beane is greatly overestimating our OL. None of the guys he's signed are any good. There is a serious shortage of blocking ability in that group. They could well be our Achilles heel -- especially against good DL's. We got hammered pretty good by injuries last year. I think a lot of guys weren't 100%. Also, I'm not worried about Dawkins. He's good, but not great and by far our best OL. We'll have to wait and see, but he's not a real concern to me. Brown, on the other hand, scares me a lot.
  2. I'm really down for a big OL upgrade even if we have to trade up to get it. Darnell Wright is my guy and I'll even double down on Jawand Jones in the 2nd to be a Guard at the next level. Sign an average MLB and Hopkins and Let's get after it! We'd probably have to trade away every other pick to make that happen and I think I have a better chance of getting hit by lightning. A fella can dream, can't he?
  3. I will be extremely disappointed if the Bills draft a WR before an OT since OT, not WR, is our biggest need and there are no MLB's worth the 27th pick.
  4. I agree OP. He'll be long gone by pick 27. Beane's strategy seems to be to sign bad offensive linemen and hope some of them suddenly have a breakout year. I don't think that's going to work and I fear he will pass on an OL in round 1 in favor of a WR. I'll be ecstatic if we land this guy or his equal. We need to upgrade both G spots and we need a huge upgrade at RT if we're serious about winning it all.
  5. We lead the NFL in OL depth. Too bad we don't have enough quality OL starters for a SB Championship.
  6. Take up a collection for him. I don't object to paying him, but we have cap issues.
  7. I will be writing off any notion of winning a SB if we blow a 1st round pick on a LB. There's plenty of LB talent to be had on day 2.
  8. Not sure. He's not what I want in a starter, but too good to be content as a backup S.
  9. He's not very good. You can't build a good OL by signing only low quality linemen. At some point you need to sign good or elite linemen. We have too many low quality offensive linemen already.
  10. How so? Is he not a good teamate?
  11. Miles Jack and Robbie Anderson could really help us if the conditions are right. Robbie Anderson's speed must be respected and Miles Jack is a decent replacement for Edmunds. I don't know their recent history. Are there off field issues or injury issues with either of them? Can we afford them? They'd certainly fill a couple big holes going into the draft allowing Beane to focus on the OL for a change. Your thoughts?
  12. I've watched him a couple times. He's good. He doesn't let his feelings cloud his judgement. Very objective. Check him out.
  13. Maybe sign Robbie Anderson who still has elite speed. That could open things up underneath for Knox, a slot receiver and the ground game.
  14. I don't know which OT is best or who will be available. I just know that Brown is a huge liability and we need to make some bold moves to upgrade our OL. These baby steps we've been taking aren't going to get it done.
  15. I think we just need to stop treating our OL as an afterthought.
  16. I'd love to see Wright in round 2 and this guy in round 2.
  17. Thank the Fed. This is how they plan to fight inflation. Blame people with no money for problems created by people with too much money.
  18. I'm fine taking a WR in the 3td and MLB in the 2nd. I want the best OL we can get with our first pick. Maybe we trade up or back, but I want an OT that can start for many years to come and play at a high level.
  19. I saw him play many times. Great player. I forgot what Miami got in that trade, but I remember after he made a great play a game announcer asking "What did Buffali trade for him? A couple bubble gum wrappers?" Indeed. That was one of the best trades in franchise history.
  20. I remember a game against the Chargers when Frazier was calling the plays and our defense was getting slaughtered. McDermott took over the play calling in the 2nd half and the defense did a complete turnaround. I think the Bills should stick to this plan and let McDermott call the defense. We may see our best defense yet in McDermott's tenure.
  21. He's above average, but I think "really good" is overstating it. Still, he's far too good to be riding the pine IMO. I'm guessing he'll be Poyer's replacement if he sticks around after 2023. So we have 3 starter worthy safeties to man 2 places, but only a couple starter worthy offensive linemen to man 5 places. Strange. Anyway, I admire Damar's toughness and spirit, but is significantly better.
  22. I originally voted Dawand Jones, but if Darnell Wright is there for us, I think he'd be a better choice. He'll be an elite pass protector and I think his run blocking can be coached up. I'd be happy with either one though. Like I've said, if Brown takes a big step, put Wright at LT and move Dawkins inside. I sure hope so. That OL would do wonders for Josh and the rest of the offense.
  23. On 3/20/2023 at 7:30 PM, Nitro said: People forget he was recovering from a back injury last season. He was improving towards the end of the season. I trust Beane and McD when they say positive things about him. I expect them to draft a guy who can play OG and C. Doyle and Anderson will compete for the back up OT spot. With the tight cap, I think they will resign their own and bring in training camp fodder. __________ Brown still has a VERY long way to go and he's proven nothing. No one has forgotten about his back, but I'm not just assuming he'll be good until he shows it. Again, he still has a very long way to go. I hope he makes it. I also would much rather draft an OT than an IOL in the first anyway. Everyone seems to think his future success is a lock after 2 very poor seasons.
