  1. I already understood that and I just disagree and I don't think film is needed to see it. I appreciate you trying to help with Greg's angle but I've heard him enough to know his general overview and philosophy. And his measure is " based on how the QBs have looked on film so far". So maybe his film is showing him that Rosen can turn into a Bradford type passer. That's just dandy. And I'll be happy with a guy who is athletic and sturdy as hell, throws mostly (will never be perfect here but plenty to succeed it appears) accurate lasers all over the width and depth of the field and generally scares the living crap out of defenses... The non-film related portion (infectious and positive, confident vibe, already a leader) would pull Josh even further away at this stage of their development.
  2. I don't disagree with any of that. However, our guy is dealing with an equally poor line and worse skill positions. Can't rank Rosen #2 "so far" based on that. Also, In listening/reading Rosenthal for a few years - he looks at execution of the short west coast offense as the ideal level of quarterbacking (ie Sam Bradford on one of his good days). He's still a respectable analyst and all that... he's just wrong here and its just because he's hanging on to what he said previously about Allen. It's tough for folks to let go.
  3. My implication was that it doesn't take watching on film to see that Rosen is severely struggling with a lot of what he was supposed to be polished at, and that he is limited due to lack of mobility and the arm seems less impressive than in college so far. He's right about Mayfiled of course but that's easy... Film or no film, there's enough out there for people to see that Baker is killing it, Allen has steadily improved throughout the season, Darnold has had moments, and Jackson can win games but needs work passing as well.
  4. I just can't fathom how he could justify that order. Horrible. There is no chance Rosen has looked 2nd best on film.
  5. Wheres the postgame thread for today? :)

      thanks I appreciate them

  6. The Lions played a spy on Josh all day which allowed a bit of extra time (a nice luxury to have for us!), but the line did a good job executing nonetheless!
  7. I liked Rosen better too at the time and was wrong. Allen is an amazing prospect who could be HOF level and can make plays out of nothing. Rosen is a smart, efficient passer who might be able to succeed with a very good supporting cast if he's lucky.
  8. No because they already took care of that with hitting Micah Hyde 5 yards out of bounds on his punt return.
  9. Its just his completions and runs mind you, but the velocity, accuracy and decisiveness in the face of pressure is impressive in this reel - https: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcgd4eTyPbA (much like the last two weeks as well) There is no actual Bills fan that could be anything but giddy about what we're seeing here.
  10. Try listening to the audio instead of just reading the text commentary before panties get into a wad. It's available in like 20 different places. Much like (for many others) - Try watching the game instead of making assumptions off of the box score or game log.
  11. 9-12 on 3rd down today with I believe 6 conversions. I'd say that makes what you said inaccurate, at least for today.
  12. I get the open approach and respect it. However, I see opinionated debates over subject matter that is not subjective as a waste of time and a sign of lacking in understanding on the topic. (like attempting to claim that momentum and culture don't exist or influence statistics and outcomes in football, when every person who's ever played at any level of organized football has experienced both.)
  13. for all the wrong football based assumptions, comparisons and insights you gain listening to too much Shopp, you can at least get them corrected on such outlets as cover1...
  14. How can they be reasonable positions if they are wrong? There is not one person that ever played football for any length of time that thinks culture and momentum are not factors in every game.
  15. This discussion was hot for a while yesterday ....
  16. Its cliche maybe but lately it feels like some point in 1986 (Maybe the opener even vs. NYJ) with Kelly. You didn't know how good he was going to be but you knew he was always going to be in the mix, seen as a threat by opponents and be able to keep you in games.
  17. No doubt! And I shouldn't have generalized about ALL writers ...
  18. Gotta love writers - That darn ill-advised Hail Mary INT Oh Noooooooo!
  19. just examples. Cite the running examples please then? Robert Griffin annnnnnnnddddd? Oh and how did Josh Allen get hurt this year? In the pocket Some are also comparing slight, skinny legged players (RG3) to a country -strong JA. Theres a difference out there.
  20. Josh is avoiding the open field hits on his runs In the pocket Qb's are totally exposed and vulnerable. Think of the major QB injuries we remember through history. For every 1 Robert Griffin example there are 6 Brady's (pocket), Rodgers (pocket), Mannings (pocket), Palmer (pocket)
  21. No - the injuries occur most when a player is held up in the pocket or rolled up on.. Runs DO carry a higher concussion potential. But the major lower body, arm and shoulder injuries mostly occur in the pocket
  22. yes, and a higher chance of it happening in the pocket
