2nd half thread: Bills at Colts 1 pm on CBS
34-78-83 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no Josh playing today = no point since this season on O was a known wash. That's been my level of concern. Was hoping the D played well but it doesn't matter really. -
why comment when you didn't watch? Saying he didn't show improved accuracy today is not valid.

Allen is a budding superstar

I think you could see it in him in his 1st Pre-season showing. I'm very happy and surprised he's progressed this far this soon. He should keep getting better. -

I don't think the Pegulas signed off on this

Actually, We are "Always" between 7-9 and 8-8. It's "Always" been a patchwork "re-toolling" while trying to maintain on the fly. This is the 1st official rebuild we have done, and in the way that SOOOO many Bills fans on sites such as this have begged for over the years. Now they hate it because they are impatient, uninformed or have an agenda. -
Those are my 5 as well. I just put Manning 3rd.

McBeane's way of rebuilding makes no sense
34-78-83 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very few actually think it makes no sense. It's just a loud vocal minority. Of course it makes sense. It will still depend on a few things that are somewhat out of their control, like Allen living up to his potential. -
The problem with the Schopp's and Jeremy's of the world with respect to covering football is that analytics treats football players like the individual contributors that you get in baseball, but it doesn't equate. It doesn't equate for a team wearing on another either physically or mentally, and what that causes. Certainly doesn't account for what a guy's assignment is on a particular play call. Doesn't account for how crowd noise affects an opposing offense. doesn't account for down and distance factors like the defense knowing a passing play will likely be coming at them on 3rd and long. There are numerous other examples out there obviously.

David Culley Talks Bills' QB Competition
34-78-83 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not too bright at interpreting my response but all right. Never talked about being ok with anything. Just providing reasons for why the situation is the way it is right now. And yes the other 2 guys CURRENTLY have a better grasp of the whole role of being a starting QB. That won't last for long. Argue against yourself though if you like. Your main area of embarrassment to concern yourself with would be your wacky conclusions about McD. -
Chad Kelly looked great last night.
34-78-83 replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I felt like Kelly looked quite good vs. the competition he faced. Nice live arm and good accuracy. I thought he showed that he has learned from some of the flaws you guys are regurgitating from his college years. Those bad habits only showed themselves on a couple to a few throws. Not half of them. He's got a shot at developing. If he can put it together 2 weeks in a row that will bode well for him. -
David Culley Talks Bills' QB Competition

The only thing laughable here is your take on the coach and thinking that he would undermine his own selection that they moved up for in the 1st round, and thinking that he is not 100% in sync with BB on Allen. Allen will get the job as soon as he is consistently able to make all the correct reads and within the scheme and apply them across varied defensive looks, have full control of the huddle and be able to sight adjust to get the offense in good positions vs. defensive adjustments and execute the plays called with enough consistency that his inevitably large YPC will overcome any small discrepancy in completion percentage that the other 2 may have over him (for now). Once he is able to do that, he'll get the gig. AJ and Nate are clearly just placeholders for Josh's job. Coach is executing a plan that he, BB and the other staff agree on for this. Coach, you and I all want Josh in there sooner than later, and doing it this way will also maintain the respect coach has gotten from the other 52 members of the team. He may earn it prior to game 1, he may not. Your weak and odd take on this process somehow being undermined by coach is not shared by others other than possibly the most jaded, paranoid or misinformed Bills fans. -

Thats not even a thing. One person says it and it becomes true for you just like that? Allen will get his chance just as soon as he's able to show consistency.
