  1. It's a trap! (its that Star Wars time of year right?) (but yes this whole thread is a trap!) There is no right answer, sillies. It 100% depends on hindsight.
  2. I agree with the OP. I felt disappointed that they didn't come after Brady more tonight.
  3. Considering the level of the opponent (the clear best defense in football), Josh played a solid B minus game. No turnovers, 2 TD Passes, good rushing. Played better when down as well like is becoming his norm. I am encouraged by his progress vs. NE and this season overall. The kid has thrown 3 total INTS since the 1st Pats game.
  4. I don't think Josh ever thew 4 picks in a game did he?
  5. He was also a locker room dividing ass
  6. You guys need to realize that most of the speaking pundits (even the former players) don't work a full typical work week at it. They don't see all the games. (one of the Good Morning Football hosts said just today that other than he and somewhat Kay Adams, none of the rest of them had seen more than 5 minutes of Bills football this year). They focus on the big draw and traditionally better teams and only follow the rest in bits and pieces when they have moments of relevance. It is what it is I guess.
  7. As much as he's shown that he has trouble in pass-pro (and you're right he's shown consistent trouble, especially early), he has clearly made some progress with it of late. He is a rookie at a position that takes some guys a couple years to get to their level. I'd hope you keep your unbiased eye on him as he goes through this likely continued progression. It's something many analysts of all kinds (from media to message board followers) struggle with... Letting go of their original take on a player. And I don't know about you, but I'll take Baldy's (former player who sees film the way the NFL people do) analysis over Joe B's (media member who never saw a football field or coached or scouted) all day, or atleast as a baseline for what I see on my own.
  8. I do agree in that I hope they draft a pass rusher fairly early. And they have the cap room to retain both I believe...
  9. Murphy isn't likely going. He hasn't been special as a pass rusher but has done extremely in getting multiple TFL's and vs. the Run/setting the edge, and decently in the pass rush game. He is in the fan's doghouse, but not the film watcher's dog house from everything I have seen. Much like Star L. (much better on film at doing his job than in the fan's perception) With that said, to the original point, Shaq has had a very nice, consistent year. I hope they can convince him to stay for somewhat of a home town discount but it probably isn't too likely.
  10. Culture does in fact matter when talent is close. Thankful for this coach and GM. What a win!
  11. Cribbs was indeed a very good back and I have often thought this season that their patience in the hole seems very similar. Although they are not identical, Cribbs was the first other Bills back I was reminded of when watching Singletary and the way he carries himself on the field.
  12. The Ravens likely won't lose another game barring significant injury or resting players. I love our Bills, our quarterback, and the direction they are headed in, but the Ravens are headed to the bowl this season. It looks like Bal vs. SF, Sea or NO.
  13. what a horrible play call and throw but it worked out for them because that TE made a play. Wow. Love to see Pitt lose here.
  14. Its really awful. We have a work in progress developing QB who is clearly (even with his flaws) already much better and in a different league ability-wise than all the guys we've had in here in 15 years. Yes, all of them. People are "done" with him, LMAO. Its sad. How many of those past QB's could engineer 7-10 play drives on a fairly consistent basis or practically ever produce a game tying or winning drive? None. Not any of them. We also have a significant dose of battered, plain angry, and ignorant fans, likely born of the long playoff drought. Annnnd there's the internet factor.
  15. Nope, not close. Allen connects on many , MANY types of passes that Tyrod wouldn't dream of releasing.
  16. I didn't wear my normal Bills shirt that I do, so I ran for my Bills hat in the 2nd quarter but it was too late... Fate had been decided.
  17. Beasley's opening up on the play had to develop (although quickly) as Dabol explained, due to the bunch concept over on that side. In hindsight yes, it would have worked and been a very high percentage completion. JB was a clear cut 1v1 match-up as dictated by the coverage look. The rule for always throw into the blitz isn't always in play. It depends on the design and intent. A Rodgers would likely have also taken the JB route I would suspect. And yes they hit Knox on it earlier in the game out of that play with a slightly different defensive look.
  18. Correct. Now that we have the feedback from Brown, Allen and Dabol on it , PLUS the video we know that : 1 - Josh properly identified the coverage and knew that JB had isolated 1v1 coverage - this was the primary WR's hot route on the play. 2- Josh properly identified the DB maintaining deep and inside leverage on JB and thus the adjustment to a back shoulder throw. 3- Josh put the ball in a very catchable spot for the back shoulder, had JB read and timed it better.
  19. It seems to be as we discussed yesterday for the most part. It's fun to be able to figure things like this out. Fan X's and O's Geek here
  20. This is true... and not likely for a number of the next few seasons. Might be a good time for those who have already made their minds up to jump off the wagon or prepare be angry and frustrated for the foreseeable future. Again, its like they are talking about Tyrod or Trent Edwards or someone... It ain't happening. There's too much good and too much progress.
  21. They only held him back on the final Drive. That's what reasonable people are actually upset with. They crippled our chances with a strategy to kick a long FG instead of going for the win by running 40 seconds off the clock. QB rating also doesn't include his rushing TD's but thats a side point. Do none of the "Anti current Bills QB" people REALLY remember what the difference from a phony QB (ie. All the QB's we've had since an aging Bledsoe - and barely there) and a developing REAL QB looks like. Do you people recall what 3rd down and 7 or more looked like for basically 15 years? Seriously try to remember what it was like and what the difference is. Our kid is developing and gives us a chance even on 3rd and freaking 20! PLUS he gives us a chance every time we need a drive at the end of a game to tie or take the lead. 3rd and more than 6 was a forgone conclusion for YEARS that we were going to be punting. People should look at more film review (you don't have to do it yourself any more) and see what is really happening out there on the field. Josh Allen is developing while the team tries to win games. That's where we are.
  22. It was one errant pass in the short to medium range. My point was that all the Qb's do this. Even Rodgers and the like. Josh needs to work on the deep ball to round out his game. He has done quite well in the short to medium areas.
  23. Those passes suddenly aren't allowed from time to time or are you just saying he wasn't "perfect" in the short areas?
  24. He'll be the guy for his full contract barring a sudden regression that he's not trending toward. Film doesn't lie regardless of what fans with agendas say.
  25. Thanks! Makes me feel better about my suspicion of how it went down there.
