Rotoworld: Bills draft needs & 7 round mock
34-78-83 replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meanwhile Shaq (given, while still not living up to his draft slot) has improved quite a bit in consistency and become a guy who can set the edge, get into passing lanes, nickel rush from a DT spot and provide decent edge rush. He isn't the same player that was drafted and is a contributor now, although somewhat unspectacular. Just thought it worth pointing out. Fans often forget to consider that players develop at different rates. Will Shaq hit a big 2nd contract? No. Can he do good things for the Bills? Yes. -

The Strategy of Signing Frank Gore

I think Gore or someone in the know already commented that the Bills really showed they wanted him, which is the most important factor to him. -
Anonymous Agents Rank Buffalo The Worst FA Destination

its amazing that we've really not had issues attracting FA's then since we got an owner who doesn't use a cash to cap model. How do they explain that? -
Imagine this team with an elite te

to add to my previous thought, I would love to see us end up with Hock from Iowa. Not sure what spot is right for him though. #9 feels too early with all the DL/LB talent but its hard to say. -

Have the Bills EVER had even a "Very good" TE? LOL it's kinda weird. I mean Keith McKeller and Pete Metzelaars were pretty good for a short time, but not really close to a top player at their position. Beyond those guys and a couple stragglers, we've had some historically bad TE's. -
Not sure what that has to do with anything. If you are implying GS will win and that makes some sort of point... not sure what point that is. The talent pool in the league is huge and wide-spread. The East has 4 worthy powers and the west has at least that. Do the star players drive the league? absolutely... And?

Zay improved quite a bit last season and will likely continue to. He'll be either the 2nd, 3rd or 4th WR and safely on the team. Progression is huge for NFL staffs to see in their draft picks. When they see it, especially in a player they drafted that high, they hold on to them. They certainly saw it from Zay last season. Barring a trade or injury Zay is a 100% lock to make the 2019 Roster.

Should Ian Rapaport Be Drawn and Quartered?
34-78-83 replied to Búfalo Blanco's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure when he (Rap) became credible as compared to Shefter... Shefter is the only one I believe on substantiated rumors. Has he ever been wrong on one? Sounds like the Bills kicked the tires and Pit like the potential offer (probably a swap of 1sts) more than most of the other offers, so an agenda got pushed. -

I was referencing podcasts such as OBL. But haha! Not gonna go there I have too much respect for the host and some of the members. -

Cover1 Bills discussion is (to me) by far the most accurate and interesting podcast out there. Love it. And none of the nimrod football analysis exists there that you see ... well .... everywhere else. -
With expectations higher, is anyone else calm?
34-78-83 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you're correct on Star and exactly why they brought him in. They've discussed it themselves. Both guys are actually pretty revealing if one listens. And the Star $ is high but he's also pretty reliable and available so that high guarantee won't hurt them likely. The gashings the Bills D received right up the gut in 2017 were addressed. Even when the Pats got us this season it was on the edges. -
Very simple. An offense that provides a lead in a game (especially extended leads) allows for lot's of sure-fire passing situations for the defense of said team to thrive off of. Not just passing situations but higher risk passing situations. We haven't had an offense that can consistently build (and hold) a lead in a long, long time.
