  1. Good. Stick to a 4th or 5th rounder in the draft. AJ Dillon would be a perfect compliment to Singletary.
  2. Maybe the issue here is more about the understanding of the responsibilities of the LDE in Sean's scheme. Just something for you to consider. And 8 mil per season is jack squat. Also, I doubt he had many "numbers" in the game, but Murphy played fantastic vs. the Ravens this past season, as an example of what Sean wanted out of his LDE.
  3. I've been meaning to try to voice this in some way in light of all the recent torches and pitchforks sent the way of Murphy. He was clearly much more healthy and fully recovered from the previous injuries last season and consistently played his role as a 4-3 LDE in McDermott's scheme. Thanks for wording it much better than I would have.
  4. Look at the pictures available online of this guy. Do you think he's really 291 lbs? That's 315/320 all day long.
  5. I really think the Bills will pluck 2 WR's in this years draft... considering the need, the availability of good prospects this year and the number of picks the Bills have.
  6. Cooper has voiced that he doesn't like the cold as Alf said and has also shown that he doesn't play well in it, if I recall correctly. So its off the table.
  7. Was Phillips a bit overrated after this season? Yes. Was he truly anywhere near as poor as the 150 something best DT in the game? Goodness no. Does PFF compare 3 tech and 1 tech stats under the same measure? IDK I watch the whole league being a football junkie that I am... I'd put him somewhere around top 25 to 35 DT's this season based on his intelligence at the position and productivity. We play a scheme that calls for a constant team effort, which is going to really skew some folks stats (different players year to year). I'd like to retain him for sure! but not at top 10 DT money is all.
  8. that's just to enter the sweepstakes, not get your vote counted I presume.
  9. They are easily as much a function of playing with risk as they are random chance. Ie. down 2 scores in the 3rd quarter... (gotta start trying some more high risk plays to come back). Also... Up 2 scores at the same time of the game (likely take fewer risks in the passing game and try to run the ball, go down with contact and not over fight for extra yards). Also, even in one on one player matchups, the overmatched guy in terms of talent/skill is going to have more turnovers than the dominant player. More things that I haven't seen addressed yet by analytics. Maybe they are somewhere... just haven't seen.
  10. He’s not grading right. Even though he’s utilizing film he’s still, for some reason, listing the numbers as if they occurred in a vacuum. Did Josh melt down late? Yes. Just not to the degree he piles on with. When you have 2 plays that led to sacks where you had 5 o lineman blocking 2 defenders... yes check it out... 5 blocking 2! ... it proves to have been more of a team melt down.
  11. Absolutely true, that QB sweep was going to go into fg range. Ahh coulda woulda shoulda though ?
  12. You had to think going into that game that our tape would be used as the main ingredient to the strategy to take out the Ravens. Ten also prefers zone schemes so it was a perfect fit. This is a really good reflection of our defensive staff and personnel to boot.
  13. Zero TDs given up ..... Zero goals given up ..... yes pay him
  14. He got better in almost every important area. Short touch passes/ swing passes etc. - still some work to do but significantly better Medium passes up to 20 yds (the meat and potatoes of being a good to great NFL QB) - MASSIVELY better! Reading defenses - Significantly better (clearly following progressions and staying in the pocket much more regularly, and looking to throw when on the run) Throwing on the run - Major improvements in accuracy here as well as decision making. Interceptable passes - decent improvement (as a gunslinger he's always going to have some of these but in the 2nd half of the season he improved drastically). He either stayed the same or regressed at: Ball security when running (Almost a fumble per game rate needs to improve) Running (stayed the same here - he's a major threat) Long throws (he regressed here from his 1st year and needs to address this in the off season) So I am not quite sure what "% better" this makes him but he improved (quite a bit) in 5/8 areas listed.
  15. They already are doing this. It’s clearly the plan. It’s a process. 9 new players on O this year. A few upgrades in the off season coming up and we’ll have money to both maintain the D and enhance the O
  16. The other important thing to note is about offenses in the playoffs consistently scoring lower than their season averages. This is what playoff football ( usually ) is like. It doesn’t mean “ fire daboll” ... sheesh
  17. This post most perfectly and eloquently states what soooo many long time and knowledgeable Bills fans would want to say here If they had seen this post or even looked at message boards from time to time. Very well said and very observant of all the positive and encouraging signs and moments that came out of this game, that reinforce the upward trajectory this version of the Bills is on. So tired of the “who’s fault is it?” threads when that usually isn’t even a realistic concept in what is the ultimate team sport. ? nice job
  18. Mike P (forgive me on the last name) , a former NFL official, has already spelled out clearly that this was not the right call and an extremely weak interpretation of the rule. The fact that the ref pulled it in OT of an NFL playoff game makes it that much worse. There’s no telling if house money makes the kick but I certainly liked his odds to do so. Damn shame.
  19. Get bent with this take seriously. I love my team And their progression and your take is over the top ridiculous and would result in literally never winning. You keep rooting for laundry. I’ll root for the guys that are here for the core of this team over the next number of years. The right people are in place. They need a few more pieces.
  20. 4 plays I think that contributed most to the loss ... the 3rd and 18 on defense, the bull crap blindside block play, the Duke drop in the end zone and the Allen fumble. Honorable mention goes to the play where Milano and Neal both blitzed perfectly and got home for a would be 12 yard sack and likely drive ender and ended up keeping Watson upright magically and then he rolls out and hits the rb who runs for 30 more yards. Sigh
  21. So? Mike P and the rest of the logical world say no
  22. The call 100% cost us a chance at a 52 TD fg to win the game. My entire family and I are beside ourselves. Ford hit him on the front shoulder.
  23. exactly. Nor does PFF understand how to correctly statistically weigh playing with a lead, playing with a big lead, or playing from behind. These are massive factors that sometimes not even film review can reveal. So any time any one says the stats are the facts, I cringe.
  24. Agreed. I think Barkley is helping Allen just fine but as a QB that has to play once in a while, he doesn’t cut it.
