  1. do you watch the games? (serious question not trying to be a jerk).... Unless Singletary is literally hitting the wrong holes, there is NOTHING he is doing that is making the run game suffer. He has to make a free defender miss on almost EVERY single run he is given. When he makes that guy miss, its sometimes 2 yards behind the LOS and turns into a meager 2 or 3 yard gain. He's got plenty of quicks and surprising power. Just lacks top end speed.
  2. I was around. There were plenty of fatalistic Bills fans even back then. It's sad, but its a microcosm of society, so.....
  3. It's a spread delay/draw scheme that I see us mostly running and it seems they are allowing too many defenders into the backfield too quickly for that to work. It's hard for me to tell if its all scheme, physicality or quickness...or maybe a combo of all three? Singletary does NOT seem like any part of the problem to me from what I can tell. He is a skilled back with quicks and surprising power.
  4. I like Knox a lot I just don't trust him on the field. It sucks. When he makes the occasiional big play it is more surprising than anything at this point. Hope he can find consistency before he finds the bench.
  5. Turner? No I find that he knows exactly what he's looking at. I am quite sure you are most incorrect unless you a referring to one of the other cover1 Buff shows.
  6. In the end, film does not lie. While Edmunds has been unable to reach his draft status expectations as of yet (that can't be argued really), he is also playing his responsibility correctly far more often than most fans think (see cover1 review). Playing hurt so that the team can maintain consistency with the calls on D is the unfortunate reality he's playing with right now as well. This team really doesn't have a true MLB either, so we need to stop judging him like a standard 4-3 MLB when he is a nickel backer on like 80% of the Bills defensive snaps. His job is to cover his gap and peruse downhill on run plays (certainly some issues there still, and more since the injury) and cover space in the short to medium middle on pass plays, which he does well. He progressed quite well last season and I hope he can get back to where he was then. I also agree with the others who have mentioned scheme down and distance predictability as one of the contributing factors to his struggles.
  7. Beasley. Want to say Diggs too but he had 3 drops to go with his 10 catches.
  8. Metcalf looking like Megatron Jr.
  9. Apologies if posted already... I found Gruden's comments about our team interesting and entertaining - Gruden Postgame Presser
  10. He's a liability out there on non-special teams plays.
  11. 1. Mahomes..... ... ... ... .. . 2. Wilson 3. Rodgers 4. Big Ben 5. Brady 6. Brees 7. Josh Allen 8. Dak If this makes any sense with the lines through Brady and Brees.
  12. who knows, but just for giggles... Bills 11 Pats 11 Dolphins 7 Jets 3
  13. Davis has exceeded early expectations for sure! What I am blown away by here is just how many of these young receivers are producing already. Wow! It's gotta be an all time record in rookie WR productivity.
  14. Hyde and Poyer comprise what is widely discussed and agreed upon in NFL circles as (still) one of the best safety combos on any team in the league. It is their efforts in making adjustments, assigning and disguising coverage pre-snap that give fits to coaches like Bill Belichick among others. I think physically Hyde is certainly dropping off a little, but he hasn't "hit the wall" and become a liability, and his intelligence makes him so valuable still on the field.
  15. Many felt JF was our best lineman last year. I am surprised by this thought of yours. Or are you saying the others are just very solid now and JF goes to the low spot on the totem pole?
  16. no, we don't. We need to enjoy the ride while the kid continues to progress. He is on track/ahead of schedule. His floor has risen to "Playoff caliber QB" and his ceiling remains "Next guy after Mahomes".
  17. I noted that Edmunds started the game very well (some big thumping hits early on) and then quickly fatigued and found himself "chasing" the rest of the game a played out of position trying to make up for it and got abused. Not sure if the shoulder also played a role.
  18. I'd say don't worry about it. The league has changed and our D is plenty good enough to support a now productive offense. We literally allowed them to Run today in order to take away play action passes and the screen game. It was a very modern strategy and requires (again) having an offense that can produce. We are just not used to this as Bills fans.
  19. no way is that a pick
  20. This x1000. To add they also don't factor in scheme or weather well enough.
  21. I was happy to see him make that catch too! One of this regime's few blown picks, but glad he's still in the league.
  22. Thank You. it's 4-3 MLB traditionalists that have a hard time realizing that Edmunds is in the perfect position for how they (our defensive coaches) like to play defense in their (most downs) 4-2-5/5-2-4 scheme. Linebackers always need to be good tacklers, etc. of course but the most important trait they require in their LB's in this defense is range , intellect and coverage ability. Just watch how we play defense. A quick look at the 1st couple drives of yesterday's game will show you that either of Edmunds and Milano can be found 15-20 yards down field gluing to a man or defending a zone. They know its a passing league first and foremost. The run fits are certainly still important and Edmunds still over-runs plays at times but he's solid enough vs. the run and INSANELY AMAZING in man and zone pass coverage and coordinating the defense that it works very well for the Bills.
  23. surprising indeed! and a pleasant one. They were well executed.
