  1. of course its very natural for a young player to get like 500% worse at tackling from one season to the next?
  2. right probably a lie by the team or a conspiracy... much more plausible! Not
  3. That would be ideal! Just reacting to the hot takers
  4. so Rapp... while never more than an average starter, had a missed tackle rate last season of around 3 percent. THIS year we have found out that he's been injured (knee) since training camp and this season he has a missed tackle rate of around 25 percent. And the conclusion is that Rapp should never see the field again for the Bills this season??? That doesn't make sense... Again, I understand that even at full capacity he is a replacement worthy player. But we should be careful what we wish for. If he heals from this injury and gets back to his 2024 form, is that better than an old Poyer? Might be. We know its better than a healthy Hamlin. Dramatic conclusions are more fun, I get it, but...
  5. Jet motion running plays have been an effective part of offensive football at all levels for many, many years. That's not disputable. I was upset with the attempt to give it to a tight end, who is not a typical ball handler, so I am with you there. I was also upset with not going with our QB or star RB to get 2 yards in 2 plays on a more simple run play, so I am with you there. Beyond that, you are reacting to results in a tiny sample size. We've seen the Chiefs win games with the same play.
  6. That's a very interesting flyer we could take. Sure he's a big injury risk but probably wouldn't take to much to acquire.
  7. Agreed on #1 for sure! Especially with the shorter fields we're now seeing from the kickoff rule changes.
  8. White played better than Benford the other night ( obviously Benford was dinged but still ). It’s has also been exaggerated to some degree on just how poorly White has been playing by folks that happen to see him on the screen and are literally guessing as to what his coverage responsibility is on a given play. He’s most certainly on the down side and has lost speed and some burst, that is for certain. He’s probably best as a cb3 ( not unrostersble) but for reasons we already know, has had to play cb2.
  9. Thanks for providing your breakdown. That takes time! Regarding the section I quoted above, I don't agree that the Pats ran much man. Unless you're talking about man under or cover 2 man, or something like that? They were locked in with 2 deep safeties over the top for the vast majority of the contest. Even when they went to cover1, the 2nd safety came down late from way up high. They invited the Bills to run because of the confidence they had in their front 7 and it was honestly a bit surprising the Bills didn't have more rush attempts.
  10. Brady didn't actually say this... its a new world. Facebook and youtube are full of made up garbage posts and videos to further satiate our beliefs and browsing interests through algorithms
  11. Lol yeah I’ve got Walker imbedded already, but yeah Sanders, Logue and guys like that I gotta look twice still 🙂 very excited about Walker’s play
  12. Ahh yeah makes some sense for number clarity. I don’t recall having any issue with it but I’m also at the point where I know which player it is by the shape of them, or posture or hair, etc. lol… in too deep
  13. The uni's (I especially like the helmets) were absolute fire. Loved 'em as did pretty much everyone around us.
  14. I agree with your buddy on guys getting open at times down field, and was at the game. But more to the point, what @Simon said was accurate. The PATS would not come out of 2 high shell almost all night long. So its not not all of one thing or another... There's some separation issues on the outside AND there's some coverage dictating it being dangerous to go over the top.
  15. It’s a pretty nice gift from the team. Got mine today!
  16. Too soon for Perry Tuttle?
  17. Tre made about exactly as many good impactful plays as he did poor plays. - On the plus side he had 2 very nice pass breakups and 2 nice run fits for no gain. - On the minus side he whiffed on the blitz and had 3 single coverage moments (no help over top on 2, crosser on one) where he couldn't keep up enough to make the play. Tre was up and down. About what most teams get out of their #2 corner.
  18. ah gotcha. Makes sense. I still wouldn't call that "on the ropes" either due to the time left but I definitely see your perspective more clearly now.
  19. Tre giveth and Tre take away... He had 4 or 5 excellent plays including 2 pass breakups and a few run stuffs to go with his getting torched in single coverage on the outside vs. speedsters 4 or 5 times. Far superior to what we had in Elam and even Douglas last year, but a solution is definitely needed for when teams scheme at him through formation and motion to single him out vs. speed.
  20. I don't equate almost tying us to being "on the ropes" . Bills would have still had the ball with time left to drive for the winning FG or TD. On the ropes is what we were in week 1 with 6 min left in the game. But its all just semantics any way, so go Bills! 140 yds passing against us
  21. They are correct (the cover 1 guys) on Groot's play, at least through 2 games prior to last night. Contrary to popular belief, the cover 1 guys do actually call out poor play from lots of Bills players, but you'd actually have to watch to see that. Lots of parroting, and lots of comments from folks that probably should just reserve themselves to watching the guy with the ball in this thread, outside of a few like Simon and Happy days.
  22. Thats the nature of drafting aye. Sure was an awful pick... I think it was just a longer term plan that they discussed with the Pegulas at the time and agreed on as an organization. They had to put lipstick on a pig for a while, and knew that was likely going to be the case. They made some business decisions on non-character guys that hampered them financially, along with some other limitations from previous contracts. They believed all along that Allen would eventually be great. And yes, very good to great QB's are always what keeps a franchise at the top on a multi-year approach. They are really zero exceptions to this any more. Some like the Rams-ish short term approach to winning. The Bills org isn't that. Some like it. Some don't.
  23. 2017 was competitive because of a new mindset, expectations and a lot of luck. 2018 was the year Josh was drafted, and the team was still being built around him, including some tough cuts who didn't fit the mold. 2019 was a growth year but I still call it transitional because the total transition to the operation they have been since 2020 was still in play. I don't see Peterman as anything but a joke of a QB, insert placeholder QB here. Our leadership was of the philosophy that they didnt want to throw Josh to the wolves too early, until they realized the garbage they had in Peterman.
