  1. I think it's important to distinguish between a 'bad pick' and a 'bust'. A bad pick is when the FO executes a dumb strategy or reaches for a player when there are glaringly awesome players on the board. For example, I wouldn't call Mike Williams a bad pick - it seemed like a sure thing on draft day, and then he became a bust. Now Aaron Maybin, that was a BAD pick!
  2. The vet pool is pretty shallow right now. After Flacco, it's Matt Moore who is probably no better than Barkley, who at least knows the offense inside and out by now. There is nobody else on the list who would improve the situation. If I'm Andy Dalton, I'm holding out for another opportunity to start.
  3. Not a lot of superstars, but a few elite position groups (S, WR, CB), depth galore, and basically no weak links anywhere, assuming they are able to find a competent RB2 - one of the easiest positions to fill.
  4. A season is definitely not guaranteed. It's absolutely within the realm of possibility that big events are shut down for 12-18 months.
  5. I don't think they overpaid for the caliber of player he is. My only concern is that he seems like he could be a prima donna, but so did Shady, and he turned out to be an awesome teammate who embraced Bills fans to the fullest.
  6. I like the certainty of knowing the player can perform at an elite level. Picking the 3rd or 4th best WR on the board at 22 doesn't satisfy that, and they were not going to find 'the guy' via free agency. Beane shored up the D line with solid vets, so there are no major holes to fill with that 22nd pick. Plus Diggs has a reasonable contract. I think it's a very good move. It's a bit of a high price, but it's not going to kill the team by a long shot. They had surplus picks to burn and still have lots of cap space, so they can afford it. A.
  7. This is great. I don't know why more teams don't do things like this to lock up top offensive and defensive coordinators. So many good ones move on to head coaching jobs, when they are probably better suited to their coordinator role. And there's no salary cap on coaches, right?
  8. I think the Bills should pay him. They have the cap space to pay market value. By declining his 5th year option, they told Shaq he had to prove himself if he wanted to stay a Bill. He responded with his best year by far, so I think it would be a good message to the rest of the team to sign him to a lucrative, but hopefully not insane, contract. If he wants one, that is.
  9. Why make trades when you have $82 million in cap space to work with? Just buy free agents and keep your existing assets.
  10. Sorry, but they're too dang old. This would have been great 20-30 years ago, even better during the Bon Scott era, but these guys are ancient. Malcom Young died from dementia, and Phill Rudd is totally washed up after a meth-addled murder-for-hire incident. The last time I saw them perform, it was with an obese Axl Rose singing, seated on a throne with a broken leg.
  11. Needing a win to clinch a playoff berth and actually winning the game.
  12. Are you trying to say Jim Brown is a poor man's Matt Mauck?
  13. Rome is such a tool. I remember watching that when it first aired (live? Not sure). That was the last time I ever watched his garbage douche-fest show. The original troll.
  14. What, no appreciation for the landmark architectural works of luminaries like Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Sullivan, and H.H. Richardson?
  15. They say about a lot of cities, "it's a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there". Buffalo is pretty much the opposite of that.
  16. I have always been amazed that he can function at such a high level with the condition he's in. It has to be hard just standing up for a whole game. I'm not busting on him, I'm just saying that physically, the guy is in rough shape - morbidly obese. Yet he kicks arse at one of the world's most demanding and stressful jobs.
  17. We don't even know who's going to be in training camp yet, and we're talking about surprise cuts.
  18. Think of it like the Intercontinental Championship Belt.
  19. It will be interesting to see how this translates to free agency. McBeane may decide they would rather overpay guys like Shaq and Phillps in order to preserve continuity of leadership as well as scheme. If you think about it, that continuity does have value beyond what a new guy could bring at a lower salary. You might save a few million bringing in guys with lower price tags, but then you're rolling the dice on whether or not they fit. The same could be said of marquis free agents, too - they don't always pan out. You know exactly what you're getting from the guys on your team, and that's worth a lot.
  20. I feel like this highlight reel missed some of his better runs. He had great blocking on most of these plays; I thought his best plays were the ones where he broke through contact and got yards that weren't supposed to happen.
  21. Waiting for the Dawson Knox pics after his hand surgeries.
  22. I'm on the Tennessee bandwagon now. Go Oilers! Win one for Moon!
  23. It doesn’t matter. Nothing can ever erase the generation of beat-downs that Brady has delivered to the Bills over the years. All you can do is tip your hat and thank God it’s over.
