  1. Oh, please.
  2. DeShaun Watson. That last play was sick, what can you say. And I just realized it was to Taiwan freaking Jones, of all people.
  3. I will never count out the Pats as long as Brady is playing, but the fact that they lost to the Fins last week, with a first-round bye on the line, gives me pause. That was a very important game for them, and they tend not to lose very important games unless they are against championship-caliber teams. As in Super Bowls.
  4. Wyche's Boomer and Icky Woods Bengals were one of the most entertaining teams in recent memory. If you consider that recent.
  5. I quit the Service Industry for good, 8 years ago.
  6. Honorable mention to Carson Palmer, who perhaps had the skills and cojones of the aforementioned future legends, but suffered from bad team ownership and injuries. I mean, he got drafted by the Bengals. That's the NFL kiss of death. Had he been drafted by a competent franchise, who knows what he might have done.
  7. He hadn't played in months, had no starting receivers on the field, and it was raining buckets at 35 degrees.
  8. Don't forget Fitz.
  9. Most of the toughest games are at home, which is nice. Maybe a few 4:00 games in there, too - which I prefer during those last Sundays of nice weather in the fall. It's hard sometimes to sit and watch a game when you know it's the last day you're going to see 55 degrees for like six months.
  10. He’s the only other QB; pretty much has to be active. I doubt he plays more than 1 quarter.
  11. Kelly is not even on the radar for this list. To me, he resides somewhere in the vicinity of Kurt Warner and Dan Fouts in the 20 range. I know he's the Field General and called his own plays, etc., but he had a short-ish NFL career with no SB championships and overall numbers that pale compared to some of his peers. He played alongside Montana, Young, Elway, and Marino - All of whom had better careers by most tangible measures. Biggest QB snub to me is Brees, but the guys who made it are household names whereas somehow he is not. Otherwise it's fine as-is.
  12. I was always impressed that the Bills more-or-less rebounded after 94-95 and continued to put up winning seasons for a few more years. I really thought it was all over in 95.
  13. You mean, Mark Gastineau?
  14. It's insane that someone should have to spend 15 years in prison over cocaine.
  15. I wouldn't mind if he got some garbage time minutes this week to get the old feeling back.
  16. Same here, pretty much. My Dad, my brother, and I were lined up shoulder to shoulder, on all fours staring up at the TV like obedient dogs waiting for a treat. Sadly, there was no treat. Afterward, I retired to my bedroom for a good cry. I was 12.
  17. If they play the Ravens, he will be running for his life a lot.
  18. ... With one shoe missing...
  19. I always wonder why teams don't pass more on 1st down. Don't you want to take the risk when you know you still have 2-3 more chances if it doesn't work out? It's like the first serve in tennis - they give it everything they've got in the hope of smashing an ace down the line, knowing that they get another chance if they miss. If they miss, they tone it down on the second serve so they get the ball in play.
  20. He has shown a lot of improvement in many aspects of his game, but after two full seasons, he is still missing open receivers a lot, and routinely putting the wrong trajectory on throws over 20 yards. I think he might pull it together, but if he continues to throw the way he throws, it could force a tough decision down the road. They can't count on the D being this good every year.
  21. The starting offense should play a series or two to stay sharp, but that’s it, and only because they are a mediocre unit. I don’t think the D starters should play at all.
  22. D. He flat-out missed on multiple throws where he had time, a good pocket, and an open receiver. These were throws that almost any other NFL quarterback makes. It’s getting old. He also again took sacks he could have avoided. He made some nice plays, but it really feels like every throw is a roll of the dice as far as accuracy goes. Sometimes he hits, but it’s far from consistent.
  23. Good point! But if they haven’t figured it out by now, I don’t know that one more game will put them over the hump.
  24. The game was lost on bad throws more than anything else, but bad tackles didn’t help. Blessing in disguise, now there is no reason to play the starters next week. At least they made a game of it.
