Who remembers Don Smith's last carry for the Bills

It's insane that someone should have to spend 15 years in prison over cocaine. -
I wouldn't mind if he got some garbage time minutes this week to get the old feeling back.

Where were you during "wide right"?
skibum replied to class_of_2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same here, pretty much. My Dad, my brother, and I were lined up shoulder to shoulder, on all fours staring up at the TV like obedient dogs waiting for a treat. Sadly, there was no treat. Afterward, I retired to my bedroom for a good cry. I was 12. -
If they play the Ravens, he will be running for his life a lot.

I always wonder why teams don't pass more on 1st down. Don't you want to take the risk when you know you still have 2-3 more chances if it doesn't work out? It's like the first serve in tennis - they give it everything they've got in the hope of smashing an ace down the line, knowing that they get another chance if they miss. If they miss, they tone it down on the second serve so they get the ball in play.

He has shown a lot of improvement in many aspects of his game, but after two full seasons, he is still missing open receivers a lot, and routinely putting the wrong trajectory on throws over 20 yards. I think he might pull it together, but if he continues to throw the way he throws, it could force a tough decision down the road. They can't count on the D being this good every year.

The starting offense should play a series or two to stay sharp, but that’s it, and only because they are a mediocre unit. I don’t think the D starters should play at all.

Josh Allen - week SIXTEEN report card
skibum replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
D. He flat-out missed on multiple throws where he had time, a good pocket, and an open receiver. These were throws that almost any other NFL quarterback makes. It’s getting old. He also again took sacks he could have avoided. He made some nice plays, but it really feels like every throw is a roll of the dice as far as accuracy goes. Sometimes he hits, but it’s far from consistent. -

NFL 100 Wide Receiver list
skibum replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a decent list. It's clear they are judging players on how dominant they were within the context of their era, which is the right approach. Yes, TO could run circles around Paul Warfield, but Moss and Harrison were the better receivers during Owens' time while Warfield dominated his. The only modern-era player who wasn't included that could have been is Calvin Johnson, unfortunately he just didn't have the longevity or team success to be considered. But when he played, he was one of the most dominant football players of all time, regardless of position. -
How Much Confidence do you have in Miami?

It will not happen. But if it did, Buffalo would have a parade in Fitz's honor, and his bust installed at the stadium. -
How bad is Levi Wallace making tackles?
skibum replied to Stallions's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a lot of CBs are going to make that tackle on Connor, coming from the side on RB running full steam toward the end zone. -

Josh Allen - week FOURTEEN report card
skibum replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
D. Not an F because the line was horrid today. But Josh missed on passes to open receivers and made bad decisions in the pocket - like scrambling left or right when he actually had time to step up and throw. And he didn't use his legs to his advantage. I think he ran once or maybe twice? He took bad sacks and fumbled. He also threw multiple balls up for grabs, which he hadn't done in a few weeks. It was a very bad day for Josh Allen, made worse by terrible pass protection. -
What a disgusting Offensive effort
skibum replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daboll didn't drop any passes or whiff on dozens of blocks today. The O line was mostly terrible, and when they were good enough, Josh panicked anyway and made bad decisions with his feet. How many times did he take off out of the pocket when he had time to step up and throw? Josh also made lots of bad throws downfield, and when he was on target, guys dropped passes. The run blocking was bad, too. The offense laid an egg today, and it was 90% execution. Daboll gets a pass on this one, from what I could see. -
Seriously? He was one of the only non-Defensive Bills to do his job competently all day today. He caught all the balls that came to him, for example. The days of Devin Hester are long gone - big returns just don't happen much anymore.
