  1. There may be other opportunities out there for him yet. But either way, I doubt some New Guy is going to come in at OC and suddenly it starts raining touchdowns in Buffalo. Another year of Daboll is probably no better or worse than the other options that may be available. What they really need are better pass catchers, a healthy O-line, and some growth from the QB.
  2. OK, I don't venture over there much.
  3. If you are from Western New York, and you like to rock, there's little doubt you have air-drummed 'Tom Sawyer' in your car on the way home from a long day at work. Legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart, considered by many the GOAT, passed away this week at age 67, after a 3 year battle with brain cancer. Post your Rush-related memories and tributes here!
  4. Not like Hall of Fame great, but for a "run-stopper" who played about 50% of defensive snaps (compared to someone like Joey Bosa who plays 90+), he spent an awful lot of time in the backfield wrecking shop. He was arguably the best DE on a top-5 defense. Someone is going to pay him some loot.
  5. Good for him. The Bills FO sent him a message by not picking up his 5th year, and he responded with a great season. I hope he sticks around, but would totally understand if he wants to cash in somewhere else after not getting the love last off-season.
  6. Everyone loves an underdog, and a QB who does crazy stuff.
  7. You would think with a 16 point lead and a running back who's been making plays all game, you would run him a bunch in the 2nd half. Not the case.
  8. I never understood why Metcalf slipped so far down in the draft. Dude is and was a freak of nature.
  9. Analysis aside, it was one of the most exciting football games I've seen in a long time. It had everything - trick plays, fumbles, sacks, crazy QB scrambles, clutch plays on offense, clutch plays on defense, big mistakes, big hits, controversial calls, last second drama, and even a bunch of extra time for more craziness. The highlight reel on nfl.com is almost nine minutes long, and it doesn't even include the kickoff TD debacle.
  10. Singletary also had a big wwhhhhiiffff in pass protection. I can't remember the exact outcome, but I think it was a big sack at a bad time. Not to poop on his otherwise great game, but if you're keeping score at home...
  11. My question is, if instead of throwing the ball on the ground, he ran it out - would they have blown the play dead as a touchback? If the answer is no, it should have been Touchdown Bills. It's either a live ball or it's not. You either signal Fair Catch or you don't. You either take a knee or you don't. Throwing a ball on the ground has never been a legitimate means of surrendering a play - just ask Josh Allen. I also think that in a parallel universe, if Andre Roberts had done the same thing and the Texans were granted a touchdown, we would all be sitting here talking about what an idiot Andre Roberts is.
  12. That's pretty awesome. An appreciation, of sorts.
  13. Oh, please.
  14. DeShaun Watson. That last play was sick, what can you say. And I just realized it was to Taiwan freaking Jones, of all people.
  15. I will never count out the Pats as long as Brady is playing, but the fact that they lost to the Fins last week, with a first-round bye on the line, gives me pause. That was a very important game for them, and they tend not to lose very important games unless they are against championship-caliber teams. As in Super Bowls.
  16. Wyche's Boomer and Icky Woods Bengals were one of the most entertaining teams in recent memory. If you consider that recent.
  17. I quit the Service Industry for good, 8 years ago.
  18. Honorable mention to Carson Palmer, who perhaps had the skills and cojones of the aforementioned future legends, but suffered from bad team ownership and injuries. I mean, he got drafted by the Bengals. That's the NFL kiss of death. Had he been drafted by a competent franchise, who knows what he might have done.
  19. He hadn't played in months, had no starting receivers on the field, and it was raining buckets at 35 degrees.
  20. Don't forget Fitz.
  21. Most of the toughest games are at home, which is nice. Maybe a few 4:00 games in there, too - which I prefer during those last Sundays of nice weather in the fall. It's hard sometimes to sit and watch a game when you know it's the last day you're going to see 55 degrees for like six months.
  22. He’s the only other QB; pretty much has to be active. I doubt he plays more than 1 quarter.
  23. Kelly is not even on the radar for this list. To me, he resides somewhere in the vicinity of Kurt Warner and Dan Fouts in the 20 range. I know he's the Field General and called his own plays, etc., but he had a short-ish NFL career with no SB championships and overall numbers that pale compared to some of his peers. He played alongside Montana, Young, Elway, and Marino - All of whom had better careers by most tangible measures. Biggest QB snub to me is Brees, but the guys who made it are household names whereas somehow he is not. Otherwise it's fine as-is.
  24. I was always impressed that the Bills more-or-less rebounded after 94-95 and continued to put up winning seasons for a few more years. I really thought it was all over in 95.
