Our new punter will be (Update pg. 38 - Martin Signed)
brianthomas replied to JMM's topic in The Stadium Wall
Martin or Kern, get er done. We'll get 1 of those 2 im sure. Good to see there was really nothing to worry about. Still some upgrades from Haack available -
Cant really imagine why a bunch of alpha males playing a violent sport wouldnt be listening to Taylor Swift, i mean cmon

anyone who does fantasy football knows how poorly Kenny G's career has gone in recent times. IF we wanted to pick up a wr, wouldnt OBJ be cheaper from an asset & cost perspective? And with a better pedigree of work, without the injury concern & high price tag? Never against trying to make the roster better but dont think KG is the one for us imho

How many trades does Beane make the next 3 weeks?
brianthomas replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane once got the 1st pick of the 3rd round for Tyrod Taylor... Tyrod Taylor haha Ford & AJ & Crowder should net us a couple 2nd's easy i know it wont be easy but he once got a 3rd for Tyrod.... In Beane i trust! -
Fans throw things at Diggs and Allen
brianthomas replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
5 pages & i dont think this has been mentioned yet (surprisingly) but it looks like the package hit Josh's package too, adding insult to near injury lol Fans seriously need to check themselves & not act like idiots. Josh's balls are precious -
stupid me thought someone bought a new jersey. Cuz who would actually have fun in New Jersey?

We're in a great position where we dont need Slayton, but if anyone ever were to miss significant time, then someone like Slayton would be a decent last minute stop gap. But outside of that, our team is just in a different place right now. In 2018-19, this would make sense, but 2022 i dont really see the need nor our desire for someone like him. Its one of the deeper position groups we have. Still, i'm confident Beane & Company would look into it if they felt it could improve our team somehow.

Any tix available for scrimmage tonight?
brianthomas replied to StHustle's topic in Bills Tickets and Gear
If theres a stream i'll have it. I can dm you if i find one. I havent even looked yet -
I liked the part where she starts crying & says: "But you're a black man approaching a white woman". think that comment by Karen says what this is all about.

Can Edmonds even stay healthy? Seems every year he's missing games for this or that. I too like Big Turk just said, prefer Cook over Chase anyways. I think he offers a more dynamic dimension to his game & is many years younger too. Just a lot more upside to his game than what Edmonds can be & for us I think a better fit.

Why do this to ourselves? We spent years debating whether Tyrod was the problem with our offense or if we just sucked. Answer was all the above. Tentative Tyrod with his low risk play did add some stability to the position. He always seemed like a class act, was humble, a hard worker & all around team guy. The kind of guy who was easy to root for, its just that it rarely if ever was for his play on the field. We surely didn't lose because of him out there, rarely ever won because of him either.
-
All he does is catch TD's, doesn't matter the QB, the team or the league... The Duke? The Duke of New York, A-Number-1, the Big Man, that's who! I'll forever be thankful for the pages of forum threads he gave us. And this thread very well could be the last one we ever get of him. So do you Duke Williams & thanks for the memories

i think we're all feeling that if the team doesnt take a step forward this season it will be a failure or underachievement. I think thats safe to say.

Out of curiosity who was the band, Gym Class Heroes? They were from Geneva i think so would be a good guess. Well if its any consolation the BILLS are good now, scary good

Worst for me was September 9, 2001 New Orleans Saints here for our home opener. It was hot as hell, down on the field about 100-110. Aaron Brooks, Joe Horn, Ricky Williams & their D dominated us all day as Rob Johnson threw 3 int's & our offense had no life whatsover. So naturally we all drank a ton. Nothing worse in the heat either. 1 of my friends we were with brought some illicit substances as a pick me up. I dont condone it, we were young & liked to party. Well turned out to be the exact opposite: ketamine. If anyone knows what that is, you can imagine... it's not the kind of experience you'd want in the heat & in front of thousands of angry BILLS fans let me tell ya. 1 guy locked himself in the bathroom stall & passed out for the entire 2nd half, until security was alerted & removed him. Another got sick in the stands, it was just a nightmare. And we lost 24-6. And no we never hung out with that guy again. Worst experience ever.

yeah that was the 1st time ive seen that play since it happened. I havent had any desire to see that. Was really hard to watch. The rest of the video is really well put together. Next year the video will be about our BILLS being CHAMPS!

Trevor Lawrence asked to be paid in Crypto currency
brianthomas replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
In the past 20 years the US Dollar lost more than half its value. I'll have to revise that number as the pace of this has changed. But now theres a scam Amazon's stock at one point lost 90% of its value. If u saw it drop 90% you'd probably think it was a scam, i know i might've. But whoever held thru that or bought the fear, reaped the rewards. Bitcoin is down 61% this year, still up 431% since 2019 from 1/2019 to 6.22/22 S&P is down 24% this year, still up 48% since 2019 same period. Since bitcoin moves in 4 year cycles, the thinking is you make your 5-10x+ during the insane bull runs & that's more than enough to withstand the downturn. Diversification is key, education paramount, & only investing what u can afford to lose is wise, as its a highly speculative asset class. It remains to be seen if BTC will succeed in its intended vision & there's many scams in the space & sensible regulation is desperately needed/wanted. But Bitcoin has outperformed every other asset since its creation. Gold, the DOW, beans, socks u name it. I dont look at crypto as currencies per se because most arent intended to be currencies but as digital assets, tokenized real world assets (as the world is moving more digital & not less) or investing in software & AI & networks. Its such a diverse space its difficult to generalize what it is haha. -

Yep, all about the bitcoin halving & 4 year macro cycle. The downside exacerbated by the greater global macroeconomic situation. When your 'safe' investments in the S&P or Nasdaq tank, you know fake digital ponzi's will tank even more haha. I'm a big investor & crypto-enthusiast but a cleansing was needed. Evidently there's still more downside to go, as Shiba-Inu pumped 30% today. People havent felt enough pain yet if theyre still buying memecoins. I believe its going to take 1-2 years for our current crisis to play out. TLaw's btc value per usd this season will be dirt cheap, but his 2022 salary could 3-5x in the future if/when its USD value goes back to ATH's (like it should). Tlaw makes millions from endorsements i imagine. Millions in cash so i can see why he took the risk with his salary. Hope it pays off for him bcuz it'd mean we all went to the moon together -
Really does seem everything in life is a ponzi lol

Pre-Draft i wanted us to either move up with our picks since we had few roster spots OR i wanted us to trade back down & accumulate picks for NEXT YEAR, ala the Pats during their dynasty. I get moving back down, but instead of getting a 6th back this year, couldn't we have received a 2023 5th back instead? Aren't current draft picks usually the more coveted pick, since u can pick now as opposed to waiting a season? I thought it made more sense for futures next year. But now this year i suppose Beane could draft these extra players thinking other teams might need & want to trade for them after the draft? Just trying to make sense out of it since we lost 3 of our draft picks last season & surely Beane learned from that

Kyle Brandt will announce Bills 3rd round pick
brianthomas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
For those who missed it. Full 3 minute segment -
Yep. We've all heard the Cam comparisons for years. Cam was so good he earned the nickname: Superman Then injuries caught up to him. I think what happened to Cam should serve as a warning to us. Doesnt matter how super your QB is, u need to protect your franchise qb period. Either with improving the guys around him or by making sure Allen protects himself out there. I think we've definitely seen attention paid to both of those

Are boneless wings with ranch the best game day dish?
brianthomas replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall
Truer words have never been spoken. But to make matters worse, chickens don't even have fingers, so what are you really getting? Another thing, when given the chance to eat meat off the bone or not, always go for the bone, always.
